Into the New World

Day 4 - [Part One]

Xiao Zhan woke up to loud groaning and hissing sounds. They are now inside an old farm house which they had stumbled upon yesterday. Since the trailer was full of things they couldn't sleep there nor in the car so they had to look for a place that can also hide the car to avoid it being stolen if ever their were survivors out there. With silent steps Xiao Zhan took a peak into one of the windows to see what's going on outside. He quickly stumbled back as a walker suddenly appeared right infront of the window. That's when he noticed the other walkers nearby.

There were about 20 walkers right outside the barn, walking aimlessly. Xu Kai who's still asleep was woken up by Xiao Zhan's continuous shaking.  FanXing was already awake and was sitting inside the car with the pups trying to tone down the sounds of groans and hissing from outside. Even though FanXing had already walked amongst them a lot of times, he still feared them especially when the scene with his father dying kept replaying inside his head.

"FanXing stay here okay. Xu Kai and I will just deal with the walkers outside then after that we can eat breakfast before we move again." FanXing nodded as Xiao Zhan quickly kissed his forehead before closing the door of the car and heading out with Xu Kai holding a bat with lots of nails on it. The two quickly got rid of the walkers making sure to do it as quiet as possible. After getting rid of all the walkers all around the old farm house they went inside to find FanXing preparing breakfast for them which mostly consist of canned foods like spaghetti or soup. Good thing Xu Kai brought a stove and cooker which runs on gas instead of electricity.

After Xiao Zhan finished cooking the pancakes, he served the two and even made some for the pups before they ate silently. They didn't take much longer to eat since they needed to move again. They don't have an exact destination in mind but they are heading to Xiao Zhan's birthplace which is Chongqing. And it'll be a 15 hour drive, basically it'll take a day so they'll have to pass a few county and districts to get to Chongqing. Since Xiao Zhan wanted to see if any of his family survived, he pleaded to Xu Kai that they should head to Chongqing.

Guangzhou was already pretty much near the water if you look at the map but Xu Kai didn't agree to go to Hongkong since it might be populated with lots of walkers and they can't fight a lot. Xiao Zhan and Xu Kai barely even gets out of cases where they have to face a horde. So Xu Kai didn't risked it and instead headed further in land. FanXing didn't mind either nor did he care where they were going as long as he's with Xiao Zhan and Xu Kai then it will be fine. It hasn't been long but FanXing already trust the two so much especially Xiao Zhan who he sees as a fatherly figure with how much he cares about him. Like last night when he was shivering because of the cold, Xiao Zhan covered him with thick, fluffy blanket and even gave him a goodnight kiss which his father does a lot back then.

Once they were back on the road FanXing distracted himself by playing with the pups who's silently sitting inside the huge cage. While Xiao Zhan was busy taking pictures with the camera he stole from one of the shops they raided. He took pictures of Xu Kai who's busy driving, of himself doing cute poses then FanXing who's busy playing with the pups. Xiao Zhan didn't hide the fact that he felt protective over FanXing for some unknown reason. He felt like he should protect the younger and give him the love his family couldn't give him just because of this stupid zombie apocalypse.

"A-Xing look at the camera." Xiao Zhan wrap his arms around FanXing and smiled wide showing his cute bunny teeth. FanXing smiled as well and the camera clicked a few times before Xiao Zhan pulled away looking at the pictures of him and FanXing. They did a few more pose before finally settling down. FanXing laying down and making Xiao Zhan's lap his pillow as he drifted off, Xiao Zhan's soft humming and the soft caress he recieve from his head lulling him to sleep.
