Chapter 2

Hello and welcome to part 2 :) I had a deal with myself, i'd upload this chapter if the first one got 20 views, or if it was tuesday, whichever came first. Fortunately both happened at the same time, so here it is

[ Laura POV ]

The next morning I woke up to a hushed conversation between Danny, Kate and another girl, whose voice I didn’t recognise. The curtains were drawn around me so I couldn’t see who was there. I stretched silently and yawned, before I was interrupted by the dulcet sounds of Kate’s voice.

“Well you should wake her up soon, breakfast is nearly finished” Kate warned Danny

“It’s fine, Betty can get us something, right?” so the other girl was called Betty. Good to know.

“Yeah sure, no problem” Betty, I presume, replied

“Cool, then we’ll see you in Charms, is it?” Danny questioned the others

“Yeah, with Professor Flitwick, the small one” Betty giggled nervously.

“BETTY!! You cant say things like that about the vertically challenged” Danny said, and burst into a fit of giggles, which I might add was incredibly cute “Anyway, we’ll see you in Charms, go on, be off with you” I heard the door shut and a soft sigh, before a part of the curtain was gently pulled back and a face peeked in.

“Have you got nothing better to talk about with our roommates than my sleeping habits?” I smirked and Danny turned bright red

“It wasn’t like that, we were just considering whether to wake you up for breakfast or not”. She said all of this while managing to stare at the red and gold bedclothes.

“Thanks, I appreciate the gesture, but if we’re going to get anything half decent for breakfast I suppose I better get ready, right?” I pulled the covers off and yanked back the curtains.

By the time I had washed, gotten ready and come out of the shared bathroom, Danny had made my bed and pushed my trunk back under my bed.

“You didn’t have to do that for me, I’m quite capable” I leaned against the bedpost behind her and smoothed the quilt

“Yes I know, but if I hadn’t, then we would be here for another 20 minutes, and what else would I have done whilst you had your exceptionally long shower?” she joked and turned to face me, I caught her eye and stood there staring up into her eyes, she slowly leaned in and placed her hand on my jaw. I closed my eyes in anticipation.

“I brought you some breakfast, it’s not much but I didn’t know if you were coming down…” Betty trailed off “Oh, sorry, am I interrupting?” Betty asked

“Its fine, we were just…talking” Danny told her, it was a ridiculous lie but it worked

“Ok, cool, well I guess I’ll see you in charms then?” Betty backed out of the dorm room and before I could say anything, Danny had turned away from me and had picked up her bag

“Danny, wait!” I grabbed her arm and turned her back towards me “I uh… I need to make a detour, to the hufflepuff common room, so go on to charms, I’ll meet you there” I was pretty pleased with that excuse, and I knew that Danny would agree to anything to get out of this awkward conversation

“Yeah cool, see you there” Danny quietly replied and sped out of the room. I made my way towards the hufflepuff common room, but caught LaFontine on the way to their first class, Potions, and told them and their weirdo friend, whose name is Perry, what happened this morning, and asked them what it meant.

“Well I think it means that she’s got the hots for you” LaF joked, and Perry snorted

“No way, that’s complete… just no” I replied, and stormed off towards charms but not before hearing LaF tell Perry not to laugh too loudly.
