Chapter 3

So holy crapsticks, this got like 30 views in 3 days :O thank you so fricking much for clicking on this mess. I'm gonna need to start writing more.

I burst into the charms room and drew way too much attention to myself. The only seats that were free were next to a Slytherin that couldn’t keep his hands off his girlfriend who was sat in front of him, or next to the girl I had spotted yesterday who  looked as though she could kill somebody.

I went with the girl, the guy also had really bad teeth so it wasn’t too much of a difficult choice for me. 

“Hi” I said as I put my bag on the floor “Can I sit here or is it saved for a friend?” that was sarcastic. I guessed she hadn’t made any friends.

“Does it look like I have many friends here?” it was almost as though she read my mind. I looked around and no one was even facing her.

“Thanks, I’m Laura” I don’t know why, but this morning with Danny made me even more confident about proving to her, and LaFontine, that I could make friends. I was determined to make this girl laugh, or even just smile.

“That’s great for you buttercup” she monotonously replied.

“Okay, so this seating arrangement isn’t going to be awkward or anything” I muttered and opened my charms book, pretending to read

“We both know that you’re not reading that cutie” she turned to face me with a raised eyebrow

“I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve by sitting next to her Laura” Danny interrupted my answer

“what do you mean, Danny? You didn’t have a seat next to you, so I sat next to…” I realised then I didn’t even know this girls name 

“Carmilla, that’s my name. Carmilla” the…Carmilla told us

“You could have asked for her to move” Danny told me as she glanced over at Betty

“Yeah, right. Because that was going to happen” I snorted in response “Look, just leave us alone. Class is going to begin any minute, there’s no time for swapping desks so you’re just going to have to deal with it for a couple of hours” I snapped at Danny and I have no idea why I did. She looked like I had just killed her cat in front of her. She turned on her heel and walked back to her desk

“Well, gingerbread, I didn’t think you’d have it in you to deny your girlfriend attention, but then again, what do I know?” Carmilla said, her voice laced in sarcasm

“she’s not my girlfriend. She’s just a friend” I told her and turned away from Carmilla and focused on my books

“Right class, I am Professor Flitwick and I am the charms professor here at Hogwarts, now I must inform you that you may choose your seats for this lesson, but after that they will be permanent, so if you would like to change your seats, please do so now.” Professor Flitwick told us and turned around to sort out his desk. I looked first at Carmilla and she stared down at the desk, like she knew I would want to change seats. Then I looked over at Danny, who had Betty attached to her arm, asking her if she could stay next to her, I caught her eye and she nodded in answer to Betty, I just looked away 

“Is it still okay for me to sit here?” I quietly asked Carmilla

She raised an eyebrow and looked over my shoulder at Danny’s desk 

“So I’m going to take a guess and say your ‘just friend’ is mad at you for choosing me over her, right?” 

“Yeah, you could say that. What am I supposed to do about sorting us out when shes being like this?” I babbled to Carmilla, before realising who I was babbling to

“What do you mean, ‘us’ I thought you said you weren’t a thing. Just friends?” she replied quietly

“Well we had a nearly kiss thing this morning, before Betty interrupted us” I told her and I thought I saw her face drop for just a second, but then her smirk was back

“Then you should go over there and demand your rightful place, cupcake” she turned around to face Professor Flitwick

“No… She wouldn’t want me there, besides she’s chosen Betty, so that’s that” I put an end to the disagreement.

“Well then if you’re all seated in your chosen places…” Flitwick began

“Excuse me sir, but I would like to swap desks with Danny, to sit next to Betty, sir” Carmilla surprised me by piping up from my side

“Right… okay then, please do so quickly miss?” Professor Flitwick asked her

“Karnstein sir” she told him as she gathered up her belongings

“Carm…” I tried to stop her

“No, you should sort things out between you and her” she put a hand on my shoulder

“Why would she do something like that?” Danny asked me after she had plonked down next to me

“I have no clue, sorry” my mind was still processing the tingling sensation that rested on my arm when Carmilla had comforted me “look, I’m sorry about what happened this morning, and about not sitting next to you today.” 

“It’s ok, I overreacted because I thought you were into her” she glanced up to meet my gaze 

“I don’t know what I’m into if I’m honest” I replied.

Mkay so i'll upload the next chapter on Monday, and bc i think this story is easily going to get 20 reads before then i'll upload it when it gets to 30? sound good?
