Miraculous | Meant To Be

Chapter 12

"What are you going to do with glitter? Make her even more sparkly? The colors and current sparkles aren't already enough?" Chat asked, as a vial of fine multicolored glitter landed in my hands. 

"Not in the slightest kitty. With little girls, no amount of sparkles is enough."

"I take it you speak from experience."

"Maybe" I smirked, "however, these sparkles have a special purpose. Let's go."

This time we both jumped down to face Pale Princess.

"There you are little kitty cat! You have to come to my party!!" She beamed at Chat Noir before seeing me and clapping delightedly, "and bring this princess too!!"

"Oh you mean my purr-incess! Of course your highness! I will escort her myself."

I rolled my eyes, and began to retort.

However, the Pale Princess, used my distraction to her advantage and whacked me with her wand. She tried to get Chat too, but he grabbed the wand and snapped it in half. Much to my dismay, no Akuma came out of it.

The girl stared at the broken wand in his hand, not quite processing, before crying, "NOOOOO!! My wand! Bad kitty cat!! You're not invited anymore!!"

Chat had the audacity to look genuinely hurt about it.

She snatched her broken wand pieces from chat, and flew away.

I laughed and whispered,  "Don't worry. You can be my +1"

Chat's eyes widened at the implication, and I blushed. However, I said nothing to deny what was implied.

Chat cleared his throat awkwardly, then put on his usual smirk.

"I like your dress Princess Bug-a-boo."

"That's Lady Bug-a-boo to you Princess Kitty," I crossed my arms, smirking back.

Once we reached the epicenter of Pale Princess' Party, I noticed how unsaturated all the colors were getting. Some people with near-grey dresses and party hats were beginning to look woozy, as if they might pass out. Her bright yellow dress was duller than before, but was still the brightest color to be seen.

Once she spotted us, she groaned. "Not you again!! At least you match in the pretty princess dress."

I grinned, taking my chance. "Yes!! It's very pretty!! And so is yours! But I dabble in fashion and I think your dress could use a little... something more."

"What? My dress? You don't like it?" The girl seemed ready to cry.

"No!! I love your dress!! It's gorgeous!! It makes you look so much older!!" I said, using flattery as a backup, then lowering my voice added, "But want to know a secret to make it even more magical?"

This seemed to do the trick as she nodded and floated closer.

"What is it? What's the secret?"

"Glitter!!" I whispered and opened the vial and dumped the glitter on her, covering her completely.

As anticipated, a majority came down on her face and she gasped, sucking glitter in, and then began a coughing fit, her lungs trying to get the glitter out.

While she was coughing, I saw the color drain from everything, including my dress, and I saw others in dresses passing out, so I quickly grabbed the Pale Princess' tiara and snapped it in half and grabbed the Akuma that flew out. De-evilizing faster than any other time, because I could NOT pass out before cleansing the Akuma.

"Miraculous Ladybug!!" I shouted, before feeling my knees buckle beneath me.

Adrien/Chat Noir's POV


I watched as all the color drained from everyone around, and then from the Pale Princess, and lastly, my lady. Luckily (good thing she has the good luck), she used the miraculous cure before she collapsed.

I was instantly there to catch her. There was no way I'd ever stand and just let her fall.

"M'lady?... M'lady?... Ladybug!" I repeated her name as she laid in my arms, begging her to wake up.

I watched as the magic ladybugs flew around and put everything back in its place, finally coming to Ladybug herself after what felt like an eternity.

The glowing bugs flew away and Ladybug was in her usual suit, the color completely vivid again.

"Kitty?"

I heard her angelic voice and immediately embraced her, not caring for once what she might think.

To my surprise, she said nothing and hugged me back. First, implying I could be her date and now this? What a day! And a good one at that.

Marinette/Ladybug's POV


I opened my eyes after what felt like only a few seconds to see,

"Kitty?"

He looked down at me, eyes wide, tiara still atop his head, and immediately pulled me into a hug. And for once I didn't want him to let go.

But as they say, 'all good things must come to an end'.

"Ladybug, are you okay?" Chat pulled back slowly to look me in the eyes.

I nodded slowly, not breaking eye contact, but noticing he didn't use a pet name. This usually meant he was mad, or serious.

"Yeah, but are you? You called me 'Ladybug."

He smiled, "so you do like your nicknames!"

"I like you." I said simply, before turning bright red because what.

He was also quite red in the face as he helped me stand up.

"Ladybug!? Chat Noir?!" We both jumped and turned around to see a little girl with blonde pigtails staring at us with wide eyes.

I knelt down next to her and asked her what happened.

She told us about how she was sick and her mom had to cancel her birthday party that was supposed to be today. We asked her where she lived so we could take her home. When we got there, her mother ran outside to hug her daughter and thank us.

My earrings started beeping, I had two of my ten minutes left before I detransformed. Chat Noir and I started to walk away, when the little girl, (named Jane) ran up to us and asked about her crown.

I hadn't seen it after the miraculous cleanse, and I had to leave, now. Luckily, Chat knew just what to do.

He pulled the tiara off of his own head, and set it on hers. He then knelt down and said, "There we go. Now run along Princess, you need your beauty sleep"

Jane's mother thanked us once again, and the two of us ran off.

"Meet you at the Eiffel Tower at 10:00?" Chat asked.

"I'll be there Chaton."
