After lunch break school was rather uneventful. After You got home and did your homework, you decided to go for a walk and maybe buy something to eat on the way.
You changed into some light blue jeans and beige sweatshirt, grabbed a bag and went outside. The sun was shining and you noticed a warm breeze that blew through your (h/l) (h/c) hair.
You decided to go to the convenience store that was just a few streets away and buy a meat bun. You like them and haven't had them in a while so you thought it would be a good opportunity to enjoy them again.
When you entered the store you went straight to the aisle where the nikuman were and took one out of the shelf. After strolling a bit through the corridors you also decided to buy the newest Shonen Jump and went to pay for it.
.: Hinata POV :.
Since he doesn't have volleyball practice today and Daichi said that they should take a day off and relax a bit because it's important to not overwork themselves, Hinata decided to go to a park. He wanted to practice anyway but Daichi wouldn't let him, he even said that he would exclude the boy from practice for a week again if he finds out that he did. He was really intimidating while saying that. . .
The small boy ended up reaching the park when he notice a certain (h/c) haired girl sitting on a bench and reading something. Hinata wanted to run to her and greet her but had a better idea.
.: (Y/N) POV :.
After paying you got out of the store and went to the park that was near, it still was a nice day. The sun shone, birds chirped and above all it was peaceful.
At the park you saw a few other children playing with each other, laughing and having fun. Why do they have so much fun playing with other people if they will get hurt by them later? Life is cruel so you know that there can't be a happy ending.
You sat down on a bench under some trees, not wanting to get grilled by the sun. Pulling out your recently bought Shonen Jump you started reading it while slowly eating your nikuman, the cicadas chirping noisily in the background, making so much noise like a main road inrush hour.
But...
"BOO!"
All of a sudden you felt two hands on both of your shoulders which made you shriek out of surprise. The person who scared you laughed a bit and stepped in front of you. It was none other than him. Out of all people it was the boy who seemed to never give up on trying to getting to know you better.
Hinata Shōyō
"Hey, (l/n)-san! I'm glad to meet you here, I can't practice volleyball today because Daichi-kun said we should take it easy and do something different today, so I came to the park and now I've met you!", Hinata said excitedly. "Ooooh, is that a nikuman you're eating??! I love them! Ah! We have something in common, (l/n)-san!"
You sigh, debating in your head if you should answer or just ignore him, but ignoring doesn't seem to work since he was still trying to get into your life. "Hinata-san, if you scare me one-"
"Just call me Shōyō! Please", the boy said with a big smile on his face and a light shade of pink on his cheeks, "If we want to be friends then we should call us by our first names."
Looking down you tried to use you hair to hide the blush that creeped onto your face. Does he know what he's saying?? You barely know each other but that boy still wants you to call him by his first name! Besides, when did you agree on you two becoming friends?
"I never said that we were going to become friends, and to continue my last sentence, if you're going to scare me one more time I won't even look at you anymore", you said. You shouldn't even be talking to him right now, but something about him seems different from all the other people, something that makes you unable to ignore him.
.: Hinata POV :.
(Y/N) was looking down, making it difficult for him to see her face and see what his greeting made her feel. "I never said that we were going to become friends, and to continue my last sentence, if you're going to scare me one more time I won't even look at you anymore", the girl in front of him said, still looking down. 'Does..does she really mean what she said?' Hinata thought. He doesn't want you to ignore him, he wanted to talk to you. You were different than all the other girls he had met before, you were always quiet, whenever he saw you,you were always just all by yourself, alone. You had something special about you that made him interested in you. He wanted to know the reason why you didn't seem to want anyone around you.
"Noo-, I- . .I'm sorry if I made you feel bad, (l/n)-san..i didn't meant to upset you and I hope you won't stop talking to me", he said with regret in is voice, bowing in front of you. Carefully looking at you he waited for a response, but to his surprise he saw you looking at him with a barely noticeable confused look on you face and a light blush that laid on your cheeks. Did he made you feel that way? Did he made you blush??
Now he felt his own cheeks heating up and knew that he must be blushing too right now. Trying to calm down the boy looked at the free spot on the bench next to you. "D-do you mind if I sit down next to you?"
"..no, make yourself comfortable", (y/n) said, moving a bit to the right making him more space to sit. Hinata sat down next to you, looking around nervously. Why is he being nervous? He's just talking to you..but it is still kind of rare that you're willing to interact with him this much.
After some minutes passed you continued to eat your nikuman and he was confident that the blush on his face had faded. The boy turned his head to look at you and his gaze landed on the magazine in your hands. "What do you think about reading your Shonen Jump together? We don't have to talk if you don't want to and if you're uncomfortable with the idea you can say it anytime, but..I think it would be fun."
He watched you closely, waiting for a reply and hoping that you wouldn't turn him down but to Hinatas surprise (y/n) placed the magazine between the two of you, flipping to the first page.
You didn't talk much but he enjoyed every minute of you two reading in silence. It wasn't a awkward silence but more a comfortable silence.
He was happy to finally spent some time with you.
