It's Saturday, and Lucas is probably getting ready for work. It's only 8 in the morning, though. I'm going to try and text him to see how he's doing.
Jill: Hey, Lucas! Good morning to you. Unless you read this after you're done working :)
No answer just yet. At home, my whole family was there. My siblings Michelle and Jordan were reunited after a long time. Michelle moved out a year ago, while Jordan lives with me.
Michelle is known as Mich by many of her friends. She's very different than me, having a better sense of style and leadership than I do. She's the outgoing type. Talking to people is what she loves doing best. On the other hand, Jordan is quiet and laid-back, just like me. Mich had not been close with the rest of us in the past, so I grew up with Jordan. She came home after midnight at times.
Jordan made my play some of his video games as a kid. They were the reason why I was addicted to them now. He also loved to draw, just like I did. We were pretty similar with one another. But as he got older, he drifted away from me. Like Mich, he also hung out with his friends and came home late. I didn't have to worry about going home by 10 PM like they did, because during my teen years, I have never gone out of the house by myself.
When Mich was done talking to the rest of my family, she decided to sit by me. She was wearing her nice, black leather jacket. She wore a scarf with it, but since she was inside, she decided to take it off.
She greeted me with a smile. "Hi Jill!"
Yeah, thanks for not saying hi to me right when you came in. "Hi." I said.
I got a text from Lucas.
LJ: You kidding me, it's only 8 AM! I'll be there at 10. After eating breakfast, I gotta go and take a shower. I look horrible right now. You don't wanna see me in the state I'm in. Text you later after work. Okay bye! What? Did he just say--? No no no. Stop thinking those thoughts. Stop stop stop!
"Who are you texting?" she asked.
I awkwardly reply. "It's... nothing. Just a friend."
"Ooh, Jill's texting a guy!" Mich called out. Jordan heard her.
Jordan sat on the other side of me. "Well that's good. But be careful, Jill. Not every guy is as nice as they look."
Well sure thing, Jordan. You had a bunch of failed relationships in the past. "Um, okay."
Mich turned on the TV. "Let's watch a TV show. Jordan, this time you'll pick."
Jordan went through the TV show selection and found one that stood out to him. "This one! It's one of those crime mystery shows."
Those kind of shows weren't really interesting to me. I like the romantic stuff. Or maybe I'm just that hopeless. I also like anything that has to do with gaming.
Mich nodded her head. "Great! It's a done deal. Now what episode...?"
I let my siblings watch TV for a while. Then I decided to text Lucas back, trying to avoid the thought of him in the bathroom.
Jill: Bye! Enjoy today's shift...
Oh no. I didn't mean to put three dots at the end! Now what? It looks like I'm not interested in talking to him. No. No. No!
Shortly after, our cousin Marissa was at the door. Mich opened it for her. "Welcome back!" She gave Marissa those girly hugs. "How did you find the first week of school?"
Great. She didn't ask me, her own sister, that question.
Marissa slightly jumped with excitement. "It's pretty good so far! No homework yet, obviously. But I know some of my friends are like, in my classes! Okay, I was only like, there for the Thursday, because, you know, I had like, work the other days."
