Animal Revolt

Humans, the mistake our world must face,

Those beings, supposedly most evolved race,

But how can this small fact be true?

For there will be no Earth when they are through.

Destruction they hold in the palms of their hands,

Unleashing it upon the most luscious of lands,

Countries torn apart through their wars,

They never thought of us when they wrote their laws.

How many relatives both your near and your far,

Have you seen ripped from their chosen path?

How many endangered, harmed or extinct?

Or facing death, their lives on the brink?

No, humans they never thought of us,

Instead, they look at us with disgust,

And hear this my many animal friends,

It's not only us that their creed dents.

Think about those who are part of their race,

Those who suffer almost every day,

Poverty, murder, deforestation,

Just three of the ways they undo creation.

Technology, knowledge and even greed,

There's nothing they won't do to fulfil their need,

Life they want to solely control,

Not just a small part, but life as a whole.

It is this which we must stop,

So I ask you to join my sombre revolt,

Together we'll stand, united as one,

So that this harm can be undone.
