You had ran away and lived with people now in a different country, you technically were family with the people you lived with. After the sakamakis had gone to get you, the borders shut down because of a diease. Unable to make it make to Japan, the Sakamakis were stuck living with you and your family until the borders open up again. You were in the kitchen cooking in the kitchen when one of the family members walked in and something that didn't recieve a good reaction from the sakamakis.

Sting gun= a gun that shoots darts, the darts are harmless but give you the feel of a real gun shot wound for a minute or two
