"Did you need something, General?" You rub your eyes sleepily, pushing yourself up on the bed. Pierce lets himself in and settles himself on the edge of your mattress.
"(Y/n)..." he opens his mouth to speak. You let out a yawn before answering.
"Yeah?" Your eyes adjust to the darkness; you can make out the outline of his face and the reflection of his pupils. You can't help but notice how sexy his features came off.
"Are you really alright?" The General casts a worried look at you, rubbing your hand in a soothing motion.
"I'm fine, General, I just have trouble sleeping sometimes." You laugh off his worried remark. Truth is, you're too tired to deal with him right now, you even stopped teasing Pierce.
"How long has it been like this?" The daemos looks into your eyes again. You can't help but avert your gaze. Conflict bubbles inside of the pit of your stomach: you didn't want to worry Pierce further. He's a General, after all, he had his own affairs to attend to. But this was a rare occasion, and Pierce clearly cared for you. Perhaps it was time to open up.
"Since the crisis began..." you start. "I worked with the Council to find a solution to this madness, and protect the remaining human soul..." Pierce's breath hitches, he knew what he had done. "Restlessly, I began to work nights back-to-back to try and find anything that could pull our kingdom out of this mess..." you yawn again. "I guess that's when I started losing sleep..."
The army General paused for a second. How could he be so blind? He'd pass by you in the hallways of the castle, you'd exchange brief greetings and carry on. Now that he was recalling the events, Pierce failed to notice the prominent dark circles growing under your under-eyes. He studies your face carefully, making out what he can from the dark room. That's when he notices: your eye bags were so puffy! He had to admit, it added to your charm. Cute? Sexy? He couldn't tell, still.
"Lay on your stomach, (Y/n)." Pierce gives you a command. "I promise I won't hurt you," he continued. The daemos hesitated as he moved closer to your figure. His arms quickly get to work, massaging your back.
"P-Pierce! There's no need to do this!" You shout in protest, heat rushing to your cheeks. He presses on anyways, continuing his work on your body. Soon, your body relaxes as you revel in his touch. You begin to drift off to sleep.
You're awoken by a knock on your door. It's Asch. Yawning yourself awake, you roll over to face the daemos prince. "Can I help you, your majesty?" You manage to say, yawning yet again. Asch stifles a laugh. The two of you usually have antics like this, showing your true selves to each other when no one is here to judge. The two of you have been together through it all, like comrades in battle. "Come on sleepyhead. As much as I want you to get some rest, we have a prisoner to interrogate." He pulls your hand, getting you out of bed.
That's when you notice: he's already dressed, and you're still in your nightwear. You clear your throat, signaling him to leave. "I'll meet you outside. I need to change." He realizes his mistake, cheeks reddening. The prince promptly leaves your room, and you put on your armor. You still couldn't understand how human clothes worked. Ava had helped you with your garments, as she was comfortable being around another female, but you could never do it yourself.
Once finished, you look at yourself in the mirror. You note strands of your hair dancing around your face, framing it just right. Your tired eyes, less zombie-like than before thanks to Pierce. Things for your personal health were looking up!
And so, out you went, through a random wall. You hear a loud shriek from behind you. Turing around, you notice Ava sitting in a pool of water, bubbles surrounding her.
"Oh— I'm sorry!" You scramble to look away. "What are you doing?" Your curiosity gets the better of you and you blurt out your question.
"I'm relaxin—" you turn around, maintaining eye contact with Ava. She stops in shock as she sees your face. You looked horrible! "Would you like to join me? You seem tired. Things like this help with that." (The tub was large, big enough to fit at least five people) You thought about her offer for a minute. It couldn't hurt to try, right? You inch closer to the water. "You have to take off your stuff first, or else it'll get wet."
You join Ava in the pool of bubbling water on the other side of the water, with your undergarments on, of course. "What do I do?" You stare at the water in confusion. "Do you brew potions in here too?"
Ava laughs. "Just don't think. Close your eyes and focus on the feeling of water lapping against your skin. You felt... calm, living in the moment. For the first time in a while, you felt the stress leaving your body... until...
"What are ya doing there?" A voice calls out from behind you. Now it's your turn to shriek, covering yourself with your hands.
"(Y/n)?!" You turn to the owner of the voice: Leif, whose cheeks are redder than than Asch's cape. He can't help but stare at your damp hair; and his eyes slowly travel upwards towards your horns. The daemos glances at your soft, cherry-like lips. He'd always flirt with you as a joke, without thinking. He'd never noticed your features.... Leif felt his heartbeat quicken, something was budding inside of him...
You two stare at each other in shock, unsure of what to do next.
