"... like I always say, once you're in business with me you don't get out unless it's complete,"

They say if life gives you lemons, you'd use them to make lemonade right? Well... you're wrong. You'd use those lemons to throw them at your co-worker, making them wish that they didn't get on your bad side. Well in my book that is,
"For fuck sakes Scar! I didn't touch your damn cupcake!"
"Well who the fuck did then! That was my lunch you upside down walrus!"
"Okay stop,"
Theo, my co-worker, spoke breathlessly with his hand raised mid-air. He stood in front of a table, clearly using it as a barrier from me attacking him. When he knew that I wasn't going to attack him right away, he placed his hands on the table and took deep breaths.
I copy his actions, breathing through my nostrils as my eyes continued to send daggers through his forehead. He looks up from his eyelashes and pulls a pained face. He had a stitch. I mean... we did run around the whole floor for a solid fifteen minutes... eh, he'll live.
The devil within me chimed. I rolled my shoulders back and placed a hand on my hip, waiting for him to regain his strength back fully. When he did he only rambled,
"Look Scar, why don't you just get another one off the display. I won't Jacob you took it,"
Jacob was our boss if some of you were wondering. He was the one who gave me the waitress job, yeah only cause you kept pestering the guy until he had no other choice to hire you. My inner voice spoke smugly.
I moved my weight from one foot to the other, rolling my eyes at his words. I point a finger at him, my action causing him to flinch back. What a man he was,
"I should be taking everything that's on display for lunch not one damn cupcake!"
He smiled sheepishly and commented,
"But you can't. You said you're on that keto diet and you ca-"
He couldn't finish off his sentence because I grabbed the small jar that was filled with salt, aiming to throw it at him. His eyes widened and a high pitched squeal escapes his lip. On reflex he held onto the edge of the table and squatted down, hiding for cover.
I held the jar over my head, wanting to hit him as hard as I could. I didn't have lunch and my hunger bought out a side I didn't want to unleash. I hissed through my teeth not able to say anything and there it was, the voice in my head reasoning with Theo,
It's true though, what he said.
I had recently put on some weight and decided to loose it. I told Theo about it, him supporting me by saying that he would do his best to help, even if it meant his life was on the line. Now was a prime example of it.
I parted my lips to say something but was interrupted by the chime of the doorbell, signalling that we had customers. Upon hearing the chime, Theo relaxed a little and looked over to the door. I do the same, the jar of salt still in my hold.
Two male customers were stood frozen at the door. One of them looked at us both and spoke perplexed,
"I'm sorry, it said you were open..."
The man stated as he pointed at the sign that was on the door. He gave a quick glance at the door before giving us both a questioning look. There was a deafening pause before he questioned,
