Hiiro found himself unable to move.

All he could see and hear was the nothingness of the void.

Drifting away in the darkness, all alone. He felt peace and fear. Clouded by memories of his journey, the fights, the blood. Soon, he felt the weight of all this.

It's all over. Finally, the future generations will live peacefully, without the dangerous demons roaming around.

Hiiro's heart was beating slow and warmth.

'Is this the end?' The night pillar asked himself as his golden eyes opened.

What was next?

He already fulfilled his role, he already defeated the demons.

Even though he lost his shinigami powers, the mission was accomplished and now, what's next?

"You still have to live on, Hiiro."

His eyes traced the voice, spotting a beautiful, black haired girl, with a sweet smile and a butterfly pattern haori. She was not Shinobu, being taller and older than her, yet, the night pillar knew her.

"Kanae. Fancy meeting you here."

The former flower pillar was standing in front of him, forcing him to stand up in the middle of the nothingness.

He was surprised when he found that the task was easier than he thought.

"Why are you here?" He asked holding himself back. Having her in front of him, five year later.

He wanted to brag about how much he changed, about his shinigami powers, about his breathing technique and how strong he has become since he left.
But he didn't, he just stared at her feet, holding back the tears.

"I'm here to give my thanks." She replied as her body made her way to the pillar, her hands forcing him to look at her. "You did well. I'm so proud of you."

Hiiro could not find any word to said. He could just stare at the beautiful eyes of the girl. Biting his lip and clenching his fists, the young swordsman heard as someone approached from behind.

"Hiiro, my man!" Kyojuro Rengoku exclaimed as as he folded his arms over his chest. "You ended the fight. You're the best!"

The flame pillar gleamed and smiled with his usual high spirits and positive attitude.

"Indeed, it was a good fight. Kojima Hiiro."

A man in black robes appeared from his right. Woth his usual seriousness and with nothing much to say.

"Zangetsu..." tears began to roll out of his eyes when the three of them were there. "Why are you all here?"

Kanae, Kyojuro and Zangetsu. The one who taught him everything, his friends.
They were there to see him one last time.

"You have to wake up soon, Hiiro." Kanae called put as she hugged his old friend. "Take care of my little sister, I know she can be little hard headed. But, she loves you. I've been watching everything, you have to make her happy."

"I'll say the same about Kamado, my boy! He really admires you." Kyojuro didn't held back as he hugged his man. His long time friend, his comrade. "Also you have to take care of Sanemi-kun. You know how much troubles he can give you. But, you're his friend, he is our friend and you never leave a friend alone."

As the two former pillars gave their respective farewells, soon they walked their way away from the boy. Leaving him all alone with his mentor.

The spirit of the Zanpakuto gave him an eyeing. He just passed him, just mumbling his last words ever.
