CHAPTER 16

Abhimanyu : I have no time for girls. I am busy making money and rising to the top. I can’t let minor distractions such as girls come between my high self esteem and goal.
Anurag  : Bro, I can’t settle down for one girl, just like you’ve done for Anika. My ‘player’ image is too good to be tarnished and stained by any girl.
Shivaye : If you ever meet the one who is meant for you, your thoughts and life will drastically change.
Abhimanyu  : It must feel amazing to be in love. Love really changes people. You never cared about girls more than business. I see you’ve grown and changed.
Anurag  : At least I’m better than Andrew. He hasn’t even proposed to Anika yet.
Abhimanyu  : Oh yeah ! When are you going to do that ? You shouldn't make her wait for too long.
Shivaye : I'll see about that. I don't want to rush her.
Abhimanyu  : She must be waiting for it. Don't think too much and just go for it.
Anurag (sighed) : When will I find my soulmate ?
Abhimanyu  : I thought you were planning on staying single.
Shivaye: Anurag , You need to first complete your studies and start working at the company.
Anurag  : Ughh…I hate studies. Everyone does. Have you checked the new Xbox Console I got ? It’s features are so good.
Abhimanyu  : You never told me about it. Are you down for a match ?
Anurag  : Sure. Why not ? Today I’ll make sure you taste what real defeat feels like.
Abhimanyu  : Are you sure because as far as I remember, I’ve never lost a fight.
Anurag  : I’ll change that today.
Abhimanyu  : Go ahead ! Let's play a game.

Shivaye smacked his head.
Shivaye ( in mind ) : These guys can never get serious. What was I even expecting from them ? Responsibility? Nahh…. it'll take them a while to understand what commitment actually means.

Meanwhile,
Anika and Maya were shopping for the trip when Maya got an urgent call.
Maya : I need to attend this call. You can wait for me at the lobby.
Caller : You were supposed to report at the headquarters. Why aren’t you here yet ?
Maya : I’m coming over.
Maya : Anika, I have some urgent work to attend to. I’ve called up Shivaye to pick you up. I gotta leave.
Anika( smiled ) : Its fine. See you at home later.

LATER,
Shivaye : Did you wait for too long ?
Anika: Not really. So, where are we going ?
Shivaye : On a little date.

Shivaye blindfolded Anika and took her to the rooftop. He had beautifully decorated it himself. There were white lilies which were Anika's favourite flowers along with heart shaped balloons of different colours lying around everywhere. There was a table in the middle and two chairs for each of them on each side. Shivaye quickly took off the blindfold from Anika's eyes. Anika slowly opened her eyes adjusting to her surroundings. She was surprised to see the things Shivaye had prepared for her.

Anika(emotional): Did you do this, Shivaye?
Shivaye: Yup! How do you feel about this?
Anika: It's amazing. I feel so touched.

Shivaye took her hand and led her towards the table. He pulled out the chair for her and went to take his seat after making sure that she was comfortably seated. The table was decorated with a velvet cloth with flowers attached to it. There was a champagne bottle along with some dishes at the side. The whole place looked quite aesthetic and matched their romantic vibes.
Anika: How did you plan all this? Where did you get such an idea from ?
Shivaye: Anurag and Abhimanyu helped me with it. I stole some ideas from Pinterest. I hope you don't sue me for plagiarism. Haha!
Anika( smiled): Of course not. I'm quite overwhelmed with the creativity but I'm more happy knowing your intentions behind all this. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Shivaye(in mind): Birthday? Is it her birthday today? I was supposed to propose her.

Anika: By the way, who told you about it? Was it my dad?
Shivaye ( nervous laugh): Yes. It was your dad who informed me.
