"It's nearly dark. We should find a place to set up camp." Wakiya declares, so we do. We walk twenty minutes until the sun is almost completely set and set up our tents. For the five of us, we have three tents. Obviously I get a tent to myself, but hilarity ensues when watching them fight over who gets to room with who.

"Why do I have to be with Valt!?" Silas complains. I pity him. You can hear Valt snoring from a mile away.

"I'll go with Valt." Shu says calmly while lighting the fire in the center.

"N-No!" Wakiya and Silas yell at the same time. Shu staying with Valt would mean Silas and Wakiya would have to spend the night with each other; and of that, I am also not in favour of.

"I need my beauty sleep!" Wakiya defends, enraging Silas. "You guys are dicks!" Valt screams. I actually forgot he was there, that doesn't happen often. "Fuck you." Silas throws himself into the open door of the tent. Valt storms in after him, I'm going to see if Shu needs help. I'll make my bed later.

"Hey, need some help?" He looks up at me and smiles.

"No, thanks. I think I almost have it." He doesn't almost have it.

He's determined to do it himself. "Wakiya, why don't you go give Valt some medication for jet lag? He mentioned he was feeling a pit aloof earlier." Valt said no such thing; but I need to talk to Shu without him being a bother. He throws his hands in the air, shrugging. "Fine. Someone's got to take care of the fool." He quickly fetches this bag and heads into the tent with Silas and Valt.

Shu looks at me again, this time confused. "What's wrong?" He asks.

"Are you okay?"

He hangs his head for a moment and pokes around the fire as if he's stalling; unsure of what to tell me. "I will be. When you win."

"Silas is worried about you." He comments.

"Or maybe he's just worried about himself. He's mad at me."

"He isn't mad. He's just scared, you know this. So why are you telling yourself otherwise?" Shu tosses the stick over his shoulder. This fire is finally burning. "Maybe you're the one who's scared?"

I shift uncomfortably. "We have much larger problems."

"I don't need your drugs!" We hear Valt scream, bolting out from the tent and falling on a log. "What the heck, Discordia. Wakiya has been trying to force pills down my throat since we got here!"

For the first time in forever, I feel grateful that Valt interrupted my conversation. I didn't like where this was going. But it seems I'm about to be drawn into another unpleasant conversation. When Silas approaches the fire, he walks with intent. A goal in mind for him to accomplish. He looks angry. Impatient.

He has something to say to me.

"Discordia, let's go for a walk."

Fuck.

"Very well. We'll return soon." I let out a noticeably exaggerated sigh and rise quickly to my feet. Shu catches my eyes. He smiles. I roll my eyes and make sure he sees it.

I follow Silas away from the campsite. Even when we're well within a radius that we could speak without being heard; we walk in silence. It's nearly pitch black despite the moonlight and stars from the sky, but it's not difficult to navigate once my eyes adjust.

"It's a nice night out." He speaks finally.

Fuck small talk. I want him to skip to the lecture. The part where he talks me out of it, the part where he drills in the fact that he has no faith in me to win this.

"Yeah. What the fuck did you want?" I snap. He smirks and stops watching. I stop subsequently. His blue eyes stare into mine. Eyes not looking angry, or even concerned. He looks confident for the first time during this trip. I look away, but he just smiles.

"This. This is what I've been waiting for. Since the moment I saw you."

He gently grabs the bottom of my chin, directing it to his gaze. "Silas..." Worry is plastered across my face. I'm going to be known as the Blader who needed a higher up to make her way in the industry. I will no longer be known to the media as Discordia Villa. I'll be referred to publicly "The Girl Who Kissed Legendary Blader Silas Karlisle To Gain Recognition," which is far from true.

Yet I can't find it in me to care. I'm craving this kiss. I need to forget about power and my reputation, just for a moment, and let myself do this.

"Kiss me." I whisper softly.

He gently sets a hand on my waist, and the other curls around the side of my neck. The kids is smooth, everlasting. I practically melted in his arms. Vulnerability has never felt so good.

Both of our hearts are pound as he finally pulls away. As his hand leaves my hair I have one thing to say;

"We really have to make it out of this alive now."
