Chapter 3: Training and the Gym battle rematch

(Flashback Start)

I was sitting next to Ash where he was. He was basically on the opposite side of Bonnie and Clemont sitting on this stone wall or whatever it is. He was just staring done at the ground. I wasn't with these people for long but I know he was in deep thought. I transformed into Sylveon I tried using my ribbons to cheer him up. "Come to Ash don't be so down," I said as I tried to get him to stand up only to freeze when I heard a familiar voice behind. I froze only because of one reason. I turned around and saw the nice girl from earlier with Ash's backpack and with her eyes wide. "She looked at me and I only had one thought, "She saw me transform!".

(Flashback End)

The girl from the gym battle earlier saw me transform. This was definitely not a good thing for me. "Ah...?" The girl standing there said in confusion. "Huh?" Ash said as he looked up and saw the girl. Just now did I realize that she was holding Ash's backpack. "Excuse me," the girl said as she raised the backpack a bit, "I think this is yours". "Ah, huh?" was what Ash said, more like noises he made as he looked around and found out that he didn't have his pack. "Guess I forgot it," Ash said as he got up to get his backpack, "Hey, thanks a lot".

As Ash took his backpack back I saw Bonnie and Clemont run-up to us from the table. "Wow! You're that girl from before" Bonnie said excitedly. "Before?" Ash questioned. I just looked up at him giving him a 'really' face. "She was standing with us during your Gym battle" Clemont explained. As Clemont explained I sent my ribbons out to the girl in a friendly gesture. She looked down at me and gave me a heartwarming smile and bent down to pet me. I enjoyed being petted, especially from her and I don't know why. I can tell this girl is trustworthy.

As the girl was petting me Bonnie started to do introductions. "My name's Bonnie, and this is my big brother," Bonnie said as she started the usual introductions. "I'm Clemont," Clemont said in a polite tone. "And say hello to Dedenne!" Bonnie said cheerfully as Dedenne greeted the girl. "Nice to meet you," The girl said happily. After that Ash started to talk. "What do you know? Sorry" Ash said as he apologized, "I was so busy battling I didn't see you there". The girl looked up to Ash as she was petting me and said, "Oh, that's okay". "My name is Ash and this is my... partner Sylveon," Ash said as he introduced himself and me. "Yeah, I know. Serena is my name" The girl now named Serena said. "Do you remember? Huh!". Serena was about to ask Ash a question but the sound that announced that pokemon was finished healing or something like that sounded. I don't know, I've never been to a pokemon center.

Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie along with Dedenne ran back inside the Pokemon Center to check on Pikachu and Fletchling. Serena was about to follow but I grabbed her wrist with my ribbons. She looked back at me with a little surprise in her eyes. She stopped and turned back around to me and crouched back down in front of me. "Is there something you want to tell me Sylveon?" Serena asked. I stared into her eyes for a bit to see if she was really that trustworthy and after a few moments, I came to a conclusion.

I nodded my head in confirmation. "What is it then," Serena asked in a gentle, almost motherly tone. I took in a deep breath and spoke, "I know you saw me transform from Umbreon into Sylveon. That's only a thing I do in front of people I trust and I get the sense that I can trust you so please don't tell anyone else outside of the group this" I asked. I saw Serena's eyes grow wide as he heard me speak but they went back to normal size pretty quickly. "I promise I won't say anything to anyone besides Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie," Serena said reassuringly. "Thanks and one more thing," I said as she stood back up. "I can tell you like Ash," I said bluntly.
