boots x swiper

Ever since Dora left the jungle, Boots was lonely. Dora was his best, if not only, friend and he didn't know what to do without her. He eventually befriended Swiper and was ecstatic when he was invited to the cliffside were he use to hang out with Dora.

Swinging expertly through the trees, Boots got there faster than he ever did before. Swiper was waiting there for him just as promised, his red fur still soaked from the early morning rain.
How long has he been waiting here for? Boots thought to himself. Swiper waved as Boots landed on the ground.

"Hey Swiper! How are you doing?" Boots cheerfully asked.

"Wha-oh uh I'm um I'm doing fine, what about you?" Boots tilted his head curiously.

"Are you okay Swiper? You're always so smooth with your words, and now you're stuttering like crazy?" Swiper insisted that he was fine, and they made some small talk while watching the river down far below them. They were there all day, and didn't realize that until the temperature dropped and the sky in front of them was turning beautiful shades of red and orange and purple. Swiper put his hand on Boots' shoulder and spun him around so they were facing each other, a barely noticeable blush crossing his face (I don't remember what foxes look like but I also really don't care)

"Boots, I need to tell you something." Boots smiled at him warmly.

"Of course, you can tell me anything Swipe." That was his nickname for Swiper. He took a few nervous breaths before speaking again.

"Boots I'm in love with you. I know we were enemies at one point in time, but I want you to put that behind you." Swiper was prepared for the worst, but a huge smile spread across Boots' face.

"I- I love you too Swiper."

(Just imagine what happens after bc I can't think rn lol)
