Thanos sighed as he opened the door to the modest swamp cottage. It had been a long day trying to get the infinity stones, and he was almost to tired to even take his shoes off.
"Shrek, honey, I'm back!" He called out to his husband, when he heard some noises coming from their bedroom. Confused, he snuck quietly over to figure out what was happening when he heard a voice that was very different from his beloved ogre.
"Ah, Shrek! Please Shrek, more I need more!" The voice was a male one, and Thanos didn't recognize it. He listened a bit more.
"Buzz baby, I'm close, just wait. My husband won't be home for another few hours, we have time." That was the moment Thanos opened the door to see Shrek balls-deep in a man with an odd, curled beard, who he recognized right away.
"Sh...shrek... why..." Thanos was at a loss for words. His husband of 6 years, with another man who was also married (buzz is married to woody, no ship judging please).
"I thought you were mine. You said you were mine! (hehe see what I did there) How could you do this to me!?" Tears were streaming down his face, a million thoughts racing through his head, and he found himself unable to focus on a single one.
"Well, Thanos, I have a perfectly good reason. You're always gone, obsessed with these rocks! Why? Is living here with me not good enough for you? I got lonely, and Woody is always gone as well! Lonely souls are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame, and you were just the spark!" Thanos was taken aback. His dear, beloved Shrek?
"Why didn't you say anything before? If I'd have known you were that lonely, I would have stayed. I would have given up my journey if it made you happy! I just wanted to make sure you were happy! I love you Shrek, and I always have! I would have given the world for you, and this is how you repay me?" He took a glance to the framed wedding photo on the dresser. With one last heartbroken look towards his darling, he turned his back on them and out the front door, to finish his journey to wipe out half of everything.
