Hello everyone, I hope you have all been in the best of health lately.
My apologies in abundance to you all for keeping you in suspense due to my hold up.
*Lots of love* ❤️❤️

"I am proud of you my son,Masha Allah for your successful masters completion". It is high time you get married after securing a job because you are not getting any younger" Baba says while sipping his tea on the dining table.
"In Sha allah Baba, I already have someone I want to settle with" She is Muhibbat, I believe you have met her in India when you went for my graduation. I reply
"Yes, I remember her. Baba nods his head in compliance.. well I'm leaving for work now, we will catch up with the discussion when I get back in Sha allah". Baba says as he gets up from the table while mum reaches for his briefcase to escort him to the car.

"Hey baby, I call out Muhibbat as she picks up the phone. I've good news for you darling". I am taking the next step with you, I have spoken to Dad about our engagement.
"Woww, Masha Allah" It is really a good news darling. I will share the news with mum. Muhibbat replies.
"I prefer a small low-key wedding darling,
I don't mind us having a small wedding and a bigger married life".

"That is a good idea darling,it is fine by me.
There is beauty in simplicity". I reply

"Basheer... I heard the sound of my name echoing from downstairs in my Dad's voice.
"Na'am baba" I answered as I walk down to the parlor where him and mum are sitted.

"I called you to have a discussion with you about your engagement which we started earlier in the morning" Baba mentions
"Okay baba" I nod my head obediently.

"Have you made up your mind about the girl, do you really want to have a future with her? Baba queries.

"Yes baba, I am sure about her. I just need blessings from you and mum.

"You already have our blessings basheer, and you will keep on having them in Sha allah" My parents reply in unison.
"So I willl talk to your uncles about the engagement, They will have to come over to Lagos to go over to the girl's family" Baba added.

"Okay I will tell Muhibbat about it", I reply as I get up to go back to my room and break the news to Muhibbat.

*A week later*
My two uncles from birnin kebbi had already arrived to Lagos for the nikaah preparation.

"It is a Saturday morning and the nikaah discussion is already taking place at muhibbat's home, while I am sitting at home chatting with Muhibbat as the first step of merging the two of us is taking place.

"Darling I have informed my parents about our plans for a small wedding which shouldn't include traditional events in the wedding, just the wedding fatiha and a dinner" they are fine with it since the idea is coming from us.
"Yeah it is a good thing they are on our side" I reply.
As much eager as I am to get married to Muhibbat so that we can be officially a couple, The wedding has to wait until I secure a job so that I can cater for my responsibilities and hers as well.

At least now that I have a fiancee waiting for me, My Dad will buckle up in finding me a good job. I thought to myself.

It has been a month since Muhibbat and I got engaged, all we do is talk about our future together and anticipate our married life.

"Congratulations son, you have been offered a job in my place of work" My Dad said to my face right after stepping in my room.
"Ohh Masha Allah" I exclaim as I reach my Dad for a warm hug.
Thank you so much Dad, May Allah reward you.
"It is my pleasure" Baba replied.

"Heyyy darling, I have secured a job at the port authority" I break the news to Muhibbat immediately before she replied my hello.
"Ohh sweetheart, I am so happy" congratulations darling. Muhibbat replies in a joyful tone.
"Darling I will be enrolling in the bar school next month" Muhibbat added.
"Well it seems like we both got promoted to a next level" I teasingly reply Muhibbat.
*Haha* "yeah right we did" Muhibbat replies.

*It is a bright Monday morning*
I have just waken up earlier than I used to because it will be my first day at work.
*My phone beeped* it is a text from Muhibbat wishing me well on my first day at work and reminding me how much she loves me. I am having a big grin on my face already.
I bet I will find it easy out there because I was posted to an IT department which is a field of my profession.

I walk to parents room to receive their blessings before heading out for work.
"Good morning Mama, good morning baba" I bend down as I greet my parents.
"Good morning basheer" You should take your breakfast before leaving for work. Have a nice day and take care. My mum replies.
"Okay mum" I reply back as I walk out.

Every morning feels like the previous one because of my alarm that rings everyday by 5am. I get up from bed
Pray subhi, work out then take my bath, and leave for work with a coffee flask.

Right after seeing my first salary, I have made up my mind about getting married ASAP because with my goody salary I can take care of a family.

Muhibbat is amid her program in the bar school and that is not an excuse to stop us from getting married, because the both of us live in the same city where her school is located. I thought to myself and I'm feeling more encouraged now.

"Muhibbat, we should get married next week I have everything set already" I say to Muhibbat right in her face.
"Awn " Muhibbat exclaim with her hands covering her mouth.
"You won't ever stop surprising me, Will you? Muhibbat queries me with her fingers pulling my ears.
"Yes darling, just like I won't stop loving you" I pull her closer in my arms and laid a kiss on her ever pink lips.
"Basheer I will talk to my parents about it then I will get back to you" Muhibbat says with an assurance tone with her eyes fixed on mine.

I have planned to live with Muhibbat in an estate which belongs to my Dad and his associates.
The estate housing is well furnished and decorated, so all we will need to move in will be our clothes and other luggages.

"Hey groom" Muhibbat pings my phone.
Immediately I saw that text I knew it is a yes. The word groom implied that we are getting married as we had scheduled.

Both our families are aware that we don't plan on having a big wedding.
We prefer just a dinner and the compulsory wedding fatiha.

"Muhibbat and I will be officially a couple on a Friday" what a dream come true. I'm having goosebumps from the thought.

Is Friday coming anytime soon? I can't seem to wait any longer even though it is just two days away.

*It is a Friday morning*

I have woke up earlier just like I normally do, while all my friends and relatives that are here for the wedding are still asleep.
I pray my sallah then got back on bed. I'm finding it hard to sleep due to so many thoughts swarming in my head at the moment.
The sun seeps in through the window and everyone is awake now from the chatters echoing in the house.

I and my Entourage arrived to muhibbat's house for the wedding fatiha.
I feel so delighted from the love and support I'm getting from everyone in attendance to celebrate with us.
*Fatiha* Amen
The next statement that followed was.
Basheer and Muhibbat are now officially a couple, May Allah bless their union. AMEN echoes all in the background.

Basheer and Muhibbat are happily hitched together as lawful couple, Muhibbat passed her bar examination then later secured a job in a private firm in lagos.... And they live happily happily ever after.

"I know right, why did the ending has to be a cliche? Well I didn't had a better way to wrap it up.  Anyways this is my first story so I'll get better along the way in Sha allah.
I hope you guys enjoyed the story.
Thank you all for your time, votes, comments and support. They meant alot to me.❤️
