Shuxin was a blubbering mess. They had to go in two hours. She still haven't prepared enough gifts. She has no makeup on. Heck, she hasn't even taken a shower because there was a lot to do!
"Hey, relax, Shuxin," Xueer calmly told her friend through he phone. "Deep breaths."
"I have no time for deep breaths! I have to go pick up the cake from the bakery. I also haven't wrapped the ginseng up yet. Oh my god! The presents are too little!!"
"Goodness, gracious!" Xueer chuckled. "Haven't you been sending her mother presents almost every day?"
"Yes, but it's not the same! We don't have a lot of presents to take to her this time!"
"You don't need that many presents. You're only meeting her mother, Shuxin. Not her entire extended family."

Xiaotang's mother had hit her on the head with a rolled-up newspaper.
"You have time to find a girlfriend but no time for your mother?" Mrs. Zhao folded her arms and glared. "You ungrateful child! Xu Jiaqi has time to find a girlfriend, visit her mother every day, and drop by to say hello to me! Why can't you be a good daughter like her?"
