He had lost track of the time, date, life he was in, it was all just noise and pain, constant and swirling around him.

The noise of that son-of-a-bitch-demon's laughter and bitter words. The constant feeling of different blades slicing through his scarred skin. The sound of blood trickling onto the grey warehouse floor. The feeling of blood pouring from any place it could. The hunger- no, the starvation. The exhaustion. All of it, pain, constant and never-ending, pain.
He was used to it. That didn't mean it still didn't hurt, but he was simply used to being in pain.

He always knew it would end in blood, but never thought it would be at the hands of some mediocre black-eyed bitch. It was ending, right? This wasn't the kind of torture people come back from. Now, he'd lived a long life, especially for someone in his line of work. He'd been loved, even if not by many and never by himself. He should think himself lucky, overlooking the trips to hell and the apocalypse and the torture and the loss. All that loss.

But he'd seen so much evil; seen Sammy taken by Satan himself, die, get tortured, lose Jess, get consumed by demon blood, possessed by a lying angel, lose that hope and happiness in his eyes, lose his happiness and dreams - all because of him. Seen Castiel rebel, fall, die, be stuck in purgatory, become human, be tortured, lose his grace and lose just as much as Sammy - once again, all for him. And Bobby, oh god. He'd lost so many people, Ash, Jo, Ellen, Bobby.
Maybe when this pain finally gives in and let's him die, he can finally escape it all.

But he couldn't leave his little brother. He couldn't leave Cas... Cas.
Dean's lips pulled into a slight smile for the first time in who-knows how long, ignoring the immediate cracking of the dried blood coating them. Cas. His angel...
His mind could barely focus, but those eyes, those gorgeous blue eyes stuck clearly in head. Everything around them was dark, just these two eyes looking back at him. He felt a feeling flow though his body - was this strength? He didn't remember...
But then the eyes got dimmer...
Blacker.

Cas!
Cas?!
Cas?
Cas...?
Cas...
