"FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, SETTLE DOWN!" Luke sang, or more yelled as he pranced around his apartment, wearing nothing but boxers. He had nothing else to do today, so he'd ended up putting on The 1975 way too loud and was yelling along to the lyrics while spinning around his apartment. The joys of living alone, hey.
The ice skating date with Michael had gone well, though in the end they'd spent most of their time kissing on the side than actually skating. That and flipping of the occasional homophobic stranger, which was always just dandy.
They'd then gone back to Luke's, where they'd listened to Fall Out Boy (though Michael wanted All Time Low, Luke had used the 'my house my rules' motto, and gotten his way) and kissed on the sofa, little talking in between, and Luke liked it, though he had had to stop Michael in the end, as he had started pushing further and further, and Luke hoped it wasn't awkward between them now. Michael seemed to leave with high spirits though, but maybe there was still a little part of him that wanted more with Luke, but it was something Luke just couldnt give. That happened about a week ago now, and they hadn't talked about it since.
"NOW EVERYBODY'S DEAD," Luke screeched, Robbers had always been his favourite song, as well as Settle Down and Heart Out and Pressure and well fuck the whole album was his favourite song.
It was only when the song ended that Luke realised his phone was ringing, and Luke ran to get it, sliding across the tiled kitchen floor as he grabbed it off the counter, answering the call, and he was surprised to hear Michael's voice on the other end, considering he hated phoning other people.
"H-hey Luke," Michael spoke softly into the phone, and Luke smiled at the sound of his voice, hoisting himself up to sit on the kitchen counter as he spoke to Michael.
"Hey Mikey," Luke replied, and his voice was very much notably happy when he spoke to Michael.
"I w-was w-wondering wh-whether you w-wanted to c-come over, C-Calum and I w-were g-gonna have a movie n-night, b-but I th-thought'd I'd invite you, I d-dunno," Michael said into the phone, his words rushed and slightly jumbled, though Luke could still tell what was being said fine.
"That sounds great Michael!" Luke replied happily, swinging his legs,"What time d'you wanna come over?" He asked.
"W-Well, I just finished w-work, so I'm g-gonna g-g-go g-grab C-Calum and th-then g-get home, b-but th-there's a k-key in the flower p-pot by my d-door if you just w-wanna let yourself in and set up or something, w-we c-can watch your favourite f-f-film first," Michael mumbled into the phone,"Also C-Cal said th-that he w-wouldn't d-disturb us too m-much, so d-don't w-worry."
"Sounds good babe," Luke said, trying not to display his distaste for Calum in his voice to Michael, as he wanted to be able to be friends with Michael's friends as well, but he just felt he couldn't with Calum, he just seemed impossible to deal with, a, a loose cannon was the phrase.
"S-see you th-then, l-love you," Michael murmured, and then he hung up, and Luke smiled down at his phone softly, which just showed Michael's contact, but Luke couldn't feel that it was possible to love someone more than he did Michael.
Luke took way too long going through his wardrobe finding something to wear. He wanted to be casual, of course, but not slob, and for some reason that was really difficult today. In the end he found jeans that the fabric was stretchy enough to be comfortable, and a suitable band jumper, and then Luke climbed onto his bike, racing along empty roads and weaving past streams of traffic, reaching his destination quicker than he ever could with a car.
Luke smiled at the apartment block that towered above him, but it was Michael's home so it was somehow still perfect, everything to do with Michael was perfect (except Calum, but shush) and Luke was quick to enter the building though, given how cold, and now dark, it was outdoors.
Luke jammed the button for the elevator, though it felt like it was going to slow as it made its way up to the 19th floor, though maybe that was Luke's anticipation to see Michael building up so everything felt like it was taking too long, but as he reached the 17th floor, Luke was starting to get annoyed, feeling like he could've ran up the stairs quicker. (he couldn't.)
It really didn't actually take long for the elevator to ding, marking the arrival for the floor he wanted, and Luke tried to walk in a nonchalant way to Michael's apartment, where he grabbed the key which was 'hidden in plain sight' in the plant pot to the side of the door, and Luke quickly opened the door, entering the warm apartment.
What Luke expected to see was an empty apartment, where he could maybe make a blanket fort for when Michael (and Calum) had got back, and maybe he could've ordered pizza and made popcorn to make everything perfect, and then put in the DVD he had chosen (which was Mean Girls) for when Michael had arrived.
What he hadn't expected to find when he walked in was Calum and Michael, both in various stages of undress, and Michael sat on the kitchen counter with Calum between his legs, and them making out passionately there, Calum's hands gripping Michael's hips and Michael's hands running along Calum's chest.
Luke stood in the shock for a few seconds, and realising that the two hadn't noticed him, he just yelled the only, thing going through his head.
"What the FUCK."
