The Choice

Chapter 1

Vince's POV

"Mister Vincent Houston?" the nurse called. 

I raised my hand and went inside the office. I took a sit in front of the doctor who's reading some documents.

"Ano po ang resulta doc?" I asked while fidgeting my fingers. Di ako mapakali kung ano man ang resulta nito.

"I'm sorry to say this Mr. Houston but you have stage 1 chronic lymphocytic leukaemia." he said while looking at my eyes. I don't know how to react. I expected this to happen since it has been in our genes but it happened much more earlier than I expected.

"You need to tell your family and come back here to have your treatment as much as possible." he said.

"You need to take this 2 times a day and you must not forget to take this pills okay?" I just nodded as he handed me the prescriptions and the result.

"Salamat po doc." I immediately went outside the office and before I knew I was crying. Wala na akong pakialam kung pinagtitingnan na ako ng mga tao dito. Umiyak ako ng iyak hanggang wala na akong mailuha. 

Hindi ko alam kung paano to sasabihin kay Anton. I can't let him know this. Masasaktan ko siya kung malalaman niya ito. Let's just go home and act like I didn't heard the news. Tumayo na ako at sumakay sa taxi.

Nakarating na ako sa bahay at pumasok sa kuwarto. Kinuha ko ang resulta at binasa ito. I can't believe this is happening. There's too many questions coming through my mind. How can I say this to him? How will he react? Napabugtong hininga ako at humiga sa kama. 

I feel tired and I just need to sleep.

Nagising nalang ako at tiningnan ang oras. It's five o'clock already kaya napagpasiyahan kong maligo. Pagkatapos kong maligo at magbihis ay lumabas na ako sa kuwarto.

Nagsimula na akong magluto para sa aming hapunan. It was six in the evening when I finished cooking. Inayos ko na ang hapag kainan at saktong sakto dumating rin si Anton.

"Vince! I'm home!" I heard the door closed. I wiped my hands and went to him.

"where's my welcome kiss?" he pouted. I pinched his cheeks and laughed.

"Ang damot naman." para siyang batang hindi binigyan ng lollipop. I couldn't help it so I kissed his lips and I could see that he was suprised with what I did. 

I was about to leave when he pulls me and kisses me deeply. When our lips parted I could hear myself panting. I feel so hot after our kiss.

"You're blushing" he whispered in my ears. I felt his hot breath in my skin.

"Shut up." I pushed him away and went to the kitchen. Sumunod din ito at umupo sa hapag kainan. Nagsimula na kaming kumain.

"How's school?" I asked while we are eating. 

"Okay lang naman. How about your work? Napaaga ka ata ng uwi" natigilan ako. 

Right he didn't know I went to the hospital. Should I say it? Paano kung iiwan niya ako? I can't risk it.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked. I could see in his eyes that he is worried. I gave him my sweetest smile.

"I'm fine. I was just tired at work so I went home early." 

"I'll wash the dishes. Kaya kumain ka ng marami kasi ang payat mo na at magpahinga ka tapos mong kumain." he said.

"Kumain na ako kanina kaya busog pa ako." 

Tumayo ako dala ang pinggan ko at nilagay sa lababo. I washed my hands and went inside our bedroom.

After ten minutes, I heard the door open.I felt him hugging me from behind. He smells like he just took a bath. 

"Are you sure that you're fine?" he whispered with his deep voice. Despite being three years younger he has deeper voice than mine.

"I'm fine." I answered and faced him so I can hug him.

I heard him sigh and he hugged me tighter. I could feel his warmth and I couldn't help but tears started falling off my cheeks. 

I wish we could stay like this forever.
