Deani approaches the bar noting that the parking lot was empty she began praying that it was open. Pulling the handle of the door it open with ease. Deani let out a sigh of relief. Entering the empty bar the door slammed loudly behind her causing her to jump. The loud noise also caused a voice from the back of the bar to yell out aggressively, "Nosotros estamos cerrados!". Deani has no idea what the meant so she just continued too stand in front of the entrance. Not hearing the door open and shut again the voice from the back stormed to the front angrily ready to forcefully eject whom ever was in the bar, but seeing the slightly ruffled black women there stopped him in his tracks. "¿quién eres tú? ¿que haces aqui?" He said looking at Deani skeptically.
"I'm sorry, no hablo español." Deani replied
The man looked disgusted "I said who are you, and what are you doing here." He replied speaking slowly as if she was stupid.
"I- um I-"
"Spit it out morena."
"I got a flat tire up the road and when I tried to call for help I saw my phone was dead I don't have a car charger so when I saw this bar I was hopping I could charge my phone enough to call for help." Deani rushed out with no pauses.
The man who has yet to introduce himself looked Deani up an down before saying. "Go ahead an use the pug by that booth, hurry and call who you need to call. You shouldn't be here."
Not giving what he said too much thought Deani ridged over to the booth and plugged in her phone. 3 minutes later her phone was booting back up, once it was fully on she decided to call Melinda first so she wouldn't worry.
"Mija what's taking you so long, you should have been here by now." Melinda said once she picked up.
"I know I'm about 20 minutes away, but I got a flat tire and my phone died."
"What?! Where are you now? Are you okay? It's too late for you to be stranded alone."
"I'm fine, I walked to this bar that was right up the street. Hopefully the man here will let me stay until I can get a tow truck out here to change the tire."
"¿Un bar? Mija are you at Diego's?"
"Who's Diego?"
At the mention of his name the man that allowed her to charge her phone popped up from behind the bar. "Who mentioned my name?" The voice traveled so Melinda heard him through the phone, her speculation was correct Deani was at Diego's bar.
"Give the phone to Diego, tell him Melinda Rodriguez wants to speak to him."
Deani reluctantly took her phone off the charger and walked over to the man she now knew as Diego. "Melinda Rodriguez wants to speak with you." She said while handing him the phone. Diego hurriedly wiped his hands on his pants and took the phone.
"Hola señorita Rodriguez." Diego said then he stood silently listening to whatever it was that Melinda was telling him. After a few minutes while still listening to Melindas words Diego look up at Deani with a seldom expression and nodded his head as if Melinda could see him through the phone. Not able to hear the conversation Deani was curious what was being said. "Sí señorita, yo lo manejaré." Then he hung up the phone and handed it back to Deani.
"You hungry?" Diego asked, not waiting for her reply he continued "I'm gonna bring you out something to eat, then I'm gonna run to my body shop and grab you a new tire." He disappeared in the back. He wasn't even gone for two seconds when a group of 7 Hispanic men barged into the bar being loud and rambunctious. Deani was instantly on alert.
"Aye Diego, donde es la fiesta fool." One of the men yelled. Hearing the noise Diego came out with a plate of food in his hands, he placed the food in front of Deani before going to a dress the men.
The group finally noticed the out of place black woman when Diego gave her the plate of food. "Who's the hyna Diego?"
Waiting till he was directly in front of the group to speak Diego said "Don't worry about it, just know she's off limits. I got shit to do, I'll be back soon. Leave the girl alone or I'll fucking kill every last one of you little fools. Got it?"
"We got you big homie." One said as they all nodded in agreement.
Deani sat on the other end of the bar picking at the meal in front of her to curious about what was being said just at the other end of the room. She noticed Diego was coming back over to her and she took a huge bit of her food to make it look as though her meal was her only focus.
"I'll be right back to get you after I grab the new tire. Don't worry fools won't bother you."
"Okay." Deani said quietly though she want to beg to go with him instead.

It's been about 15 minutes and as promised the men haven't bothered Deani at all. They haven't even attempted to speak to her. Though she was glad they were following Diego orders sitting there allow was boring her. Deani yawned and during her yawn the door of Diego's opened a slammed once more and entered a very handsome man. Deani eyes him as he walked up to the group of men with such an air of authority. He had striking green eyes, a perfect smile, long dark hair that danced around his shoulders, he had to be at least 6'3, and his fit screamed that he had ridden a Haley Davidson here. Deani could not stop assessing him with her eyes.
Feeling an extra set of eyes on him the stranger look up an locked eye with Deani. Upon seeing the lone black woman the corner his face scrunched up in confusion.
"Aye who's the morena?"
"Leave her alone Mateo. Diego said she's off limits."
"Yeah fool, we ain't getting killed for you."
Mateo laughed at their protests and made his way across the bar to find out why a black woman was sitting in a bar on this side of town.
