Chapter 4 "Because I Wanted To Sit With You"

KAVANEI'S POV

I wake up and feel someone carrying me. I open my eyes to see Nishiki carrying me "What's.. Going on, where's Tou---"I say and force myself out of his arms." WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT PLACE!? KANEKI MUST BE IN THERE!" I yell and start running back. "Kava!!! STOP! You're going to hurt yourself!! Kaneki left us! OK?!" I hear Touka say. I fall to my knees in pain "There's no way....why would he?!" I mumble. I feel someone pick me up again "You can't walk like this. I don't understand why you aren't healing. I thought you ate earlier?" Nishiki says "I did. But before that all I ate was human food for a period of time" I say
"That's basically suicide. Why would you make yourself sick like that?!" Nishiki starts to raise his voice at me but I ignore it.

Back at the coffee shop, it's messed up, broken. And it doesn't feel like the shop we once knew and loved. I can't believe Kaneki isn't here... I Bury my face into Nishiki and cry slightly." It's alright... We'll all fix this!" Hinimi says tapping my shoulder.

The morning sun rises and shines through my bedroom window. I wake up and just lay there "What are we supposed to do now he's gone?" I whisper to myself. I roll over and see Melanie sound asleep. She isn't safe here anymore.... She's only young and if anything happens like what happened yesterday and she gets caught up in it, I'll loose my mind. I sigh and get out of bed. I put my black under vest on with a green one on top. I slip my half sleeves on and pull the belt tight. I slip my green shorts on and also tighten the belts. I do up the belts that make my shorts look like overalls.

(annnnd now ima stop describing her getting dressed because it's BORING)

I walk into the main area of the coffee shop and see people already fixing the window I was thrown through "Beeefoore you even think about helping you should go eat something." I feel someone pat my head. I look and see Kaya. "Finnnnneeee. Do you know if Uta got back safe? Or anyone else for that matter?" I ask "Yea. Our little rescue team made it out safely" Touka says. I twitch but this time really bad "I never got the chance to ask why you actually do that?" Touka says. I nod with no expression on my face. "I was apart of various science experiments. That's why the doves know so much about our Kagune. It usually takes at least 3-5 seconds to equip a normal Kagune but with mine I can equip mine so fast you won't see it. The twitch is just an thing I got from all of the trauma to my body. "I tell her he hugs me tight. "All of us ghouls deserve so much better..." Touka mumbles into my hair. I pull away and smile "Don't worry about it. All we can do is try to fix it" I say and then pick up Melanie "I have to take Melanie back she isn't safe here" I say and walk out.

"I've stayed abit too long, see you all later!" I say as I walk out of the mannor. It's already sundown, huh... I pick up the pace and walk back to the coffee shop. The sky is painted beautiful reds and oranges that I can't help but sit on a rock and watch the sunset. I'm a grown ghoul. It's not like it'll bother them.

I hear a footstep and then someone sit beside me. I look and see Ayato. I go to get up but he grabs my wrist "Oh calm down. I'm just doing the same as you" He says. I hesitantly sit back down and rest my head in my hands. "Why did you have to sit near me? Why couldn't you sit somewhere else?" I ask moodily. "Because I wanted to sit with you" He says looking at me. I turn my head to look back "is that so?" I ask. I feel a cold wind and clutch my arms to stay warm. I hear Ayato get up, finally he's goi---- I feel a coat drape over my shoulders "Huh?" I feel my face flush as I look at him "T-thank you.. But you'll get cold, I should just go" I mumble.
"No stay. I'm fine. Honestly I didn't need to even bring it." He says. I nod and pull the coat more over me.. I shiver again. I really need to get back... I feel something pull me to the left. I find myself leaning on Ayatos shoulder and his arm around me. I want to get up but...i guess it's warm so I don't. Eventually I find myself getting weary and eventually, everything goes black.

AYATO'S POV

I look down at her face and see she's fallen asleep. Well, I can't exactly waltz into wherever she lives. Plus I don't even know. I stand up and pick her up on my hip. I hold one hand on her back and the other, under her.

I sneak into my ward and into my room. I lay her on the bed and get a shirt I had. "Don't hold this against me" I say and change her into it.
