I sat up from my mattress which was laying on the floor because I only moved in yesterday. Sunlight shone through my window since I hadn't put up any curtains. I love waking up at the crack of dawn, the air is always so fresh. I pulled my hands to my eyes rubbing the remaining sleep away. I slid off my mattress and stood up. I walked into my bathroom; all my stuff was already in here since I used it the night before. I brushed my teeth and scraped my long white hair into a scruffy bun, I quickly slipped into a pair of black shorts a light grey sports bra and my black running shoes, I grabbed my keys before leaving.

One of the reasons I picked this apartment was because it was only a 2 min walk to the woods, this was mine and Embers favourite place to run. I kept my pace at a fast jog until we got into a clearing deep into the forest, I then undressed, leaving my clothes in a pile in the middle of a large grassy field and i shifted. I ran as fast as Embers legs would carry me, hearing my paws thud as they hit the ground with force sent shivers down my spine. I had the feeling of unbelievable power. It engulfed my whole being.

After running for around an hour I trotted back to where I left my clothes. As I got closer to my destination, I started to feel a weird pull in my chest.

"MATE!" Ember said in excitement. It is a well known fact among us werewolves that there will be that one, true connection withing our lives, the one with whom you almost feel the same heartbeat. This felt like my entire being was recognising this moment in me.

I slowed my trot to a walk and lower my nose to the ground, catching the male's scent, I crept to the edges of the clearing making sure I was still covered by the trees to be sure I wouldn't be seen. My eyes scanned the field and sure enough there stood the most striking male wolf I had ever seen.

He had a shiny pitch-black fur that waved in the morning breeze, he was bigger that the average male, probably around 9feet tall, he must be the alpha of his pack. His eyes were a super light Hazel which made them pop against his silky dark coat.
