Bed Head

As soon as Katy woke up she felt the cold Nebraskan air whipping her in the face. Apparently she forgot to close the window the night before. Well that was a dumb idea she thought as she got up to close the window to block the frigid air from coming through. She turned around to look at the clock, it was only 7. No one should be up that early on a Saturday. She crawled back into bed hoping to get a couple of more hours in before actually beginning her day. Unfortunately she was unsuccessful and decided to just get up. She walked to the bathroom to attempt to contain her hair that resembled a lion's mane. Her thick black hair stuck out in every direction as she had expected. Her blue eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep and of course she had forgotten to take off her make-up so it appeared she had two black eyes. Frustrated and still exhausted she turned on the water for what she hoped would be a relaxing shower. Before she had a chance to even undress someone started banging on the bathroom door.

"Whatttttt?" Katy sighed fed up and the day hadn't even really started.

"Woah, slow your roll, its me."

Katy recognized the voice as Lily's, and turned off the water. Even though it was her best friend, Katy was still not happy that she was interrupted.

"Okay and?" Katy snapped turning on the water again. Lily was never the one to care about personal space or all that human decency crap, so of course she just walked right in the bathroom while Katy was in the midst of taking off her shirt. Katy froze while her arms where still in the process of coming out of the sleeves and the shirt over her head.

"Lily what the hell!" Katy raising her voice with each word. Lily ignored her outburst and strode past her to sit on the toilet. Katy realizing this finished taking of her shirt and threw it at her.

"Nice to see you too bestie!" Lily exclaimed sarcastically.

"What do you want?" Katy muttered bitterly while grabbing a towl from the closet.

"I can't visit my favorite person without wanting something?" Lily asked with fake hurt and shock in her voice.

"No." Katy stated bluntly.

"Okay you're right, I need a tinie tiny favor." Lily said indicating how small with her thumb and pointer finger.

"I'm all ears."

"Okay well my parents are leaving for a couple of days next week and they were wondering if I could stay with you, but they wanna meet your parents and yada yada. So yeah, can I?"

Katy's eyes held a glint of remorse and longing but as quickly as it had come it disappeared.

"No. They're out of town again sorry." Katy quickly spat out. "Now get out so I can take a shower!"

As soon as Lily stepped out of the bathroom Katy slammed the door. Lily stood there in front of the door hurt and confused as ever.
