                  ZAID'S POV

    "Assalamualaikum ya Zaid good morning"Yasmeen greeted entering my room,"morning lil sis how was your night"?,i enquired"alhamdulillah ya Zaid, please i want you to drop me off at Lee's place before you leave for office,

"Yasmeen you know how you are when it comes to getting ready for anything"I said putting my necktie,"Ya Zaid am ready wallah it's only breakfast that is remaining which we are eating together with mummy and Abbie,they are waiting downstairs","ok now go and get your vail,and all the necessary things you are going to need"I said sending her out in order to finish getting ready on time.

"Abbie good morning, mummy good morning"I greeted sitting down to also have my own breakfast which is spaghetti and mincemeat sauce together with a glass of mango juice to go with it.

"Morning son how was your night"Abbie asked with a smile,"fine Alhamdulillah Abbie,how was yours"i also asked nicely,"it was fine alhamdulillah" ehem ehem mummy cleared her throat to gain out attention,"having a father and son moment without mummy?"she teased,"

"no mummy you know that you're always my number one right?"i said smiling at her,"me am tired of hearing this all the time,you people will just be having your moment without me"mummy said,she is indeed a drama queen,"no mummy you know how men are,we are just discussing about office work and whatnot"i said squeezing her hand a little to let her know that I'll always be there for her."alright whatever you say",she said also smiling "Now let all have our breakfast peacefully ok?"Abbie said and with that, everyone dug into his food and before you know it we're all through with our breakfast and getting ready to leave for work.

Abbie said that he's going to meet up with one of his old friend in Maitama,so he'll not be coming to the office today,and mummy is going to the market to get some few groceries.

"Ya Zaid am ready, you're the only person am waiting for"Yasmeen said entering my room for the second time this morning,"wai me akeyi a gidansu Lee din ne?"I asked in hausa,ya Zaid Lee's father is celebrating his 60th birthday tomorrow insha Allah,so i want to go and help them with something"she blabbered,"celebrating his birthday you say?"i asked to be sure,"yes ya Zaid and it takes forever before he agreed to their request, they want the birthday to be grand"

"Okay let's get going before i get late for work,ehen Yasmeen before i forget,is that girl going to be there?"i asked to ensure, because i know Yasmeen would want me to escort her there tomorrow and i don't want to see her face.

"Ya Zaid which girl are you talking about i don't understand"she said pretending as if she was not there when the girl was glaring at me,"that Lee's friend i can't recall her name gaskiya",i said pretending to think of her name,"oh husnah you mean?"she said smiling at the mare mention of her name,"she's Lee's neighbor ai, they grew up together"she said,by now she was smirking at me and i know what that look means, she's giving me the 'my ya Zaid is in love look' ,

"don't even get there because am not interested in her"I said opening my car and roared it to life,"ya Zaid calm your horses what did i say now,i just said that they are best of friends that's all am saying but you are leading the conversation somewhere else" she said raising her hands in mock surrender.

I just shook my head and concentrated on my driving,"but seriously ya Zaid husnah is a nice person,and from the way Lee  was gisting me about her she is way too better in reality","she said shifting a little in her seat to face me completely,"please Yasmeen it's enough"I said cutting her off"ok ya Zaid i rest my case",she said laughing so hard just to annoy me even more.

"Where did you say is their house again?",i asked facing her a little,"Maitama,don't worry i'll direct you"she said

Yasmeen directed me and within thirty minutes we arrived at the house which is now filled with people moving in and out,"thank you so much ya Zaid you have made my day"Yasmeen said pecking my cheek,"no problem lil sis"i said waving it off

I saw Lee and that husnah girl coming towards us, Yasmeen must have texted them of our arrival"ina yini ya Zaid ya gida"Lee greeted me with a smile,"lafiya lau alhamdulillah Lee how are you doing",i enquired,"fine alhamdulillah thank you for letting Yasmeen join us in the preparations,you know baba is celebrating his birthday tomorrow, and we wanted it to be a surprise since he only agreed on cake without knowing that we invited some of our relatives and his business associates to celebrate with us"Lee said smiling,all this while husnah did not greet me,"ina yini"she greeted as if reading my mind,"lafiya lau ya gida?"i asked trying to be nice for once after that incident at Mambolo mall two weeks ago,"lafiya lau alhamdulillah."

"Hope all is well?"I asked her again,"yes alhamdulillah" she said smiling a little,it's now that am seeing her beauty even without makeup.

"Ok ladies let me come and be going am almost late for work,i have a meeting at 10am"I said looking at my wrist watch to see that it's few minutes to nine,me that am expected to be in the office by eight.

"Alright ya Zaid stay safe", Yasmeen and Lee said waving at me while husnah just smiled and said 'a dawo lafiya' to which i only smiled in response.

Throughout my drive from Maitama to the company all am thinking about was husna's smile,the way her dimples was showing whenever she talks,her skin complexion and all, she's not very fair and she's not chocolate in colour. Wait what am i thinking,does this mean am falling for this girl,no this can't be happening,i said in my mind.

All through the meeting my mind keep on drifting to husnah,"Mr Zaid are you sure you're ok?" Sa'ad one of the client asked genuinely concerned,"sorry what?I asked again because i didn't know what he said,"i asked if you're ok"he asked again,"yes am fine it's just that am thinking of thinking of the huge amount of money those staffs took, that's all",i lied smoothly though they can't see through my facade, because i can hide my emotions to everyone except mummy of course, she can see through me like a mirror, sometimes i used to be scared of how she can read me like a book.

"All is going well insha Allah, they'll surely reap what they sow, don't stress your self over it ok?",he calmed me not knowing what is actually my problem,"insha Allah,thank you malam Sa'ad",I said,"no problem let continue",I said and with that we round up the meeting and everyone went his/her separate ways

I was in my office checking some documents when Yasmeen called me telling me that they're done,and that she saw Abbie coming out from husna's house together with her father, that made me stood up quickly,"what??do you mean that Abbie knew her father?" I asked not minding how I sounded,"so he's the old friend Abbie was referring to earlier...,yes,ok am on my way right now bye."
