               HUSNAH'S POV

Lee and I have been busy with her father's birthday preparations which was tomorrow insha Allah,she came to our house telling me that she has invited Yasmeen over to come and help us with some things here and there.

"Yasmeen texted me that they are on their way here",Lee said smiling at me,"by they what do you mean?,is she coming with her friends?,I asked at the same time,"no she's coming with her brother Zaid", right that instant my mood changed because i don't want to ever see him again,"is there any problem husnah?,

"no there isn't,"ok since you say so,and please don't forget what i told you the other day"she said raising her brows a little with a smirk playing on her lips,how i wish I could wipe off that stupid smirk,but it's Lee we're talking about here she'll throw up tantrum till you get tired of hearing.

   "They're here let's go already",Lee said dragging me from my soft bed,today since 8:30am Lee came to our house and woke me up from my sleep telling me to hurry up and get ready since the preparations are starting today and time is not on our side,I greeted Ummi and Abba,Fateemah greeted me to which i answed smiling,i had my breakfast which was apple and orange juice just to hurry and go,"ya Husnah where are you hurrying to this early morning?", fateemah my lil sis asked me while stuffing her face with pancake and chocolate syrup,"we're going out with Lee to the market to buy few things since Baba's birthday is tomorrow",

"ok safe journey, please ya Husnah buy Valentino ice cream for me on your way home pretty please"?,she asked with a glint of hope in her eyes,"fine anything for you lil sis",I said offering her a smile", "thank you ya Husnah you're the best sis ever",she said jumping in happiness,"Zara you know that you are a pneumonia patient and you're not expected to be taking cold stuffs right?",Abba said in a serious tone,he loves Fateemah so much, maybe it's because she has our pertanal grandmother's name which is his grandmother i don't know.

"Abba i didn't get to take anything cold for over two weeks now, please let me have this once and I won't take it anytime soon"Fateemah begged Abba with a gleam of tears in her eyes before he agreed on one condition which is to have it a little." Thank you Abba I love you so much"Fateemah said giving Abba a side hug,"that's my girl"Abba said patting her back, she has always been Abba's favorite since when she was a baby.

"Abba, Ummi Fateemah,am off to Lee's house"I said waving at them,"toh Allah ya tsare hanya"Abba said,"ameen ameen Abba,"Husnah please send my regards to Maman Sultan if you reach","insha Allah Ummi I will", Abba also told us that one of his old friend is coming over today,and with that I left the house which brings us back to the present time.

Yasmeen texted Lee that they are waiting outside the gate to which we went outside to meet up with them.

Zaid exchange pleasantries with Lee, while Yasmeen and I said our Salam shaking hands, Yasmeen even hugged me saying I shouldn't be formal with her, we're all friends to which i only smiled. Lee being the talkertive she is has been explaining things to Zaid as if he asked for it, while he has been stealing glances at me the whole time.

"ina yini"I said and we exchange pleasantries unlike the other time, could you believe he even smiled at me and I reciprocated with a warm smile absentmindedly,today he is looking exceptionally handsome in his ash caftan and a black zanna bukar perched on his head and his Aldo toms, I've never admired a guy the way am admiring Zaid right now. Oh God what is wrong with me today,the man I hated is now the same man am admiring!!

He bade us goodbye saying something about him having a meeting and so on,he even bade me goodbye separately while Lee and Yasmeen were giving me the'you have some explanations to do later look',but I just shrugged it off. When he left they all turned to me waiting for an explanation.

"Oya madam spill it out"Yasmeen and Lee said at the same time,"I don't know what you guys are talking about oo"I said feigning ignorance,"didn't you see how they are exchanging glances at each other?"Lee asked Yasmeen to which she nodded her head in response,"I've been observing them since when ya Zaid is exchanging pleasantries with you"Yasmeen said to Lee,my own is just to watch them because i seriously don't understand where the conversation is heading to.

"I see that you are not willing to talk,but put this at the back of your mind that I'll do whatever it takes to squeeze the truth out of you,now let's go to Wuse market and get the souvenirs,ehen Husnah please call the man so as to know whether he's around or not to avoid disappointment you know how they are",I said ok and dialed the man's number after two rings he picked up,"assalamualaikum hajiya husnah good morning"he greeted,"morning malam Bala how is the family,yes I just called to check if you're at the shop,ok we're on our way insha Allah,ameen ameen, alright thank you."I ended the call

"He said we can go now that he has somewhere to go"I said and with that we entered Lee's matrix and hit the road.

On our way home,we stopped at the pancakes corner and collected the pastries we ordered the other day and also buy the Valentino ice cream that Fateemah asked me to get her,we went home to get some rest after the tiring day.

  "Gaskiya you're a nice person Husnah"Yasmeen said with sincerity in her voice"you'll make a great sister in-law one day insha Allah"she added, that part made me blush a little.

"Yasmeen thanks for the compliment,but sincerely speaking you're also a nice person"she smiled and we continued chit chating till they called asr prayer and we all prayed and waited for her brother's arrival.

"Hello Ya Zaid, alright i'm on my way downstairs aha", Yasmeen said cutting the call. "He is at the parking lot, Lee where is mama, I want to say my goodbye,Yasmeen said her goodbye to mama, she said I should escort her to our house to say goodbye to Ummi as well.

"Assalamualaikum"we said our Salam upon reaching where Zaid was standing typing away on his phone doing only God knows what,"wa alaikumussalam i'm back as promised,so how was your day?"he asked in general but his eyes were on me the whole time while i averted my gaze to the green grasses in the garden,"the day was hectic but alhamdulillah since we're done with everything, just waiting for tomorrow",Lee said

"Masha Allah this Baba's birthday is surely going to be grand, i'm wishing him many blessed years ahead",and we all answered with ameen

Yasmeen hugged Lee and I goodbye,we also bid Zaid goodbye before they went home and we also went home to retire for the day.
