We need answers

The party found themselves at the Byers/Hopper residents. They all walked in to find Hopper sitting at the dining room table, reading the newspaper. The party gathered around him, he looked up at them, confusion took over his face.

"What do you guys need?" Hopper said putting down the paper, rolling his eyes.

"Answers." Mike simply stated.

"What are you talking about?" Hopper said obviously annoyed.

"El." Lucas said. "Or should I say Jane."

Hopper's eyes when wide at the name. "How did you-"

"Never mind how we know. What we know isn't enough. We need more." Max interrupted.

"What do you guys think you know?"

"We know that her name is Jane." Mike said.

"That she hasn't been sick these past few days." Will said.

"And we know that there is something your not telling us." Max added.

"Now you can either tell us-" Lucas continued.

"Or we can just figure everything else out, just like we figured out her name." Dustin finished.

Hopper sighed, again rolling his eyes. "Look, what you guys are trying to get into, is something you don't want to get into. Respect El's privacy and don't do anything that will get you guys in trouble." And with that he stood up and walked out the door, not saying anything else.

"Well, we are still going to get answers!" Dustin yelled at him. After getting no response back only to words could be heard in the room. "Well shit."

"What are we going to do now?" Lucas asked. The party had moved to Mike's basement to plan their next step.

"Well, we went to Hopper." Will stated "So, that leaves just one more person who knows the full story."

"El." They all said in unison.

"But we don't even know where she is." Mike said.

"Yeah, but we didn't know her name at first. If we can do that, we can definitely do this." Dustin said.

"Yeah but how do we even do that?" Mike questioned. "I mean finding her name was easy. This is different. We don't have a file we can just look in."

"Wait! Maybe we do." Will said as his eyes widened with realization.

"What do you mean?" Max asked.

"Hopper!" Will exclaimed. "He has a small filing cabinet in his room that he keeps under lock and key. Maybe there's something about El in there."

"Okay, where are the keys?" Lucas asked.

"On his key ring."

"How do we even get the keys?" Dustin asked.

"Easy. Do what we did to get the file." Will said.

It only took a matter of time before a plan arose, and everyone went to fulfill it. When they went back to Will's house Hopper was asleep on the couch.

"Well, that made our job 10 times easier." Dustin whispered trying not to wake him up.

Will sighed and walked over to Hopper and grabbed his keys out of his pocket. He held them up for everyone to see. "Let's go, we have some questions that need answers."

They all walked upstairs to Hopper's bedroom. Will went to the file cabinet and began a trail and error of keys.

"Will you hurry up!" Dustin whisper-shouted.

"I'm trying." Will hissed. Finally he found the key that fits. He opened the cabinet and started searching for a file that might relate to El. Bills... Chicago Labs... Jane.

"Found it." Will said grabbing the file. "Jane."

The group gathered around him as they all started reading the file.

"Jane Ives." They all read out loud.

"Her mom's name was Terry Ives." Will said softly.

"That will help." Lucas said. "We can search her up in the phone book."

"I thought her mom was dead." Max said.

"No, she's around. She has a mental illness though." Mike said. Everyone turned towards him with questioning look. "She told me, alright? She also said how her aunt was taking care of her mom. So, if we look up someone with the last name Ives we might find where El is. Unless her aunt's last name isn't Ives or if she's with someone else, but this was the only biological family she mentioned."

They grabbed the phone book and quickly flipped to the 'I' section. They finally stopped when they came across the name Becky Ives. Will eyes widened. "That's it! Becky Ives, that's her address."

"That's an hour long drive." Max said.

"So, I have my license." Mike stated. "I can just take my mom's car."

"Well." Lucas said. "Looks like we are going on a road trip."
