"you love us?"

"I'm confused" Evangeline told the team. Once they got back to the station Morgan explained what happened at the ice rink to the team. Most of them agreed to what Morgan was thinking while Reid and JJ weren't convinced. While the team discussed Evangeline sat in a chair trying to comprehend what was going on and why she was the topic of the conversation. They looked at her when she had spoke. She had only put little comments into the conversation when Morgan explained what had happened at the ice skating rink.

"They want you to go undercover, You would keep being Evangeline. The new girl in town who snuck into an Ice skating rink" Evangeline cut Reid off right there "technically the sign said they were open so it's not considered sneaking in."

"Morgan said that this Carter guy could be the unsub" Hotch stated

"So could Brian, he kinda gave me a weird feeling. Also his demeanor completely changed, At first he was angry but then he was trying to make Phillips Carters partner" Morgan added

"Yeah the whole conversation was kinda weird but he seemed nice. I do agree though. The Carter guy seemed like the unsub. He seemed unorganized and Brian said that he kept missing practice....but why would I go undercover can't we bring him in for questioning"

"We could but, we don't have much on him. He could be going through something with his family or friends and not be a sociopath who is stabbing and killing people with ice skates" Emily stated

"so you want me to get close to him?"

"yes, become his partner. Skate with him. figure out why he's acting weird. and mostly find out if he's our unsub"

Reid looked over at Evangeline as if to say "are you sure". He knew about the accident. Evangeline had been trying to land a Triple Axel for a long time. She had almost got it and she assumed that she would get it with more practice. The day of competition she attempted to land it but she landed on her hip. She ended up in the hospital with a fractured hip. Doctors told her if she kept skating while it was healing she could injure herself further and might loose the ability to ever skate again. Evangeline moved out of the town. She decided to go to collage and learn to be a profiler. she graduated top of her class and joined the BAU not long after. Here She was, Her past caught up to her. She was terrified. What if she hurt herself again? What if she injures herself even more? The doctor didn't tell her if she could skate after the injury. She was to disappointed and the stress of it all was effecting her mentally. She fell into a depressive state but when she started taking classes and going through training she felt happy again. She missed how her old life was as well so she decided she would do it.

"I'll do it"

With that the team found Evangeline a small cheap apartment to "live in" so not to blow her cover. She called Brian telling her she would try it out, She wanted to meet Carter first get to know him a bit. Build a bond before he would lift her into the air while moving. Brian understood and told her to meet them at the ice skating rink around 2 the next day. The team made their way to the hotel but Evangeline walked to her new apartment she would be staying in for a while. As Evangeline started to settle into her apartment her phone started to ring. Without looking at the caller ID she answered.

"Hello?"

"hey Evangeline"

"Spencer what's up. did something happen?"

"No nothing happened"

"Ok, what's up"

"Why are you doing this. We talked about the topic of figure skating, and you said you didn't see yourself going back."

"Spencer...I lied. I love my new life, I love this job. I love the people I work with, but I miss it. Spencer it was my the only thing I knew before the BAU. It was my safe place. I could escape reality, when I was doing it I wasn't worried about pleasing my parents, or worrying about me getting bad grades"

"You never told me that"

"I wasn't ready...I hated the fact that I wasn't doing good in my classes so when I took the classes in college I made sure I was getting A's and I did. I worked hard to get to where I am. The injury really affected me and it was hard to admit that. It was hard to admit that I left the thing that I loved the most when I was younger. I got up and left Spencer. i'm ashamed of it."

"you love us?"

"Spencer...did you listen to anything I just said"

"I did, but...you love us"

"Yes I love you guys you big goof. I've told you this"

"E?"

"Yeah?"

"What if you get hurt again"

"i'm not sure...you are the doctor you tell me"

"Well your injury is healed i think it would be fine...just be careful and no triple axels."

"No promises" Evangeline laughed trying to lighten the mood.

"So how is the new place"

"kinda boring...I wish I could stay with you guys at the hotel. It's kinda lonely here"

"That makes sense, statistics show that-"

"Spence....no statistics"

"right sorry" Spencer chuckles and they continue to talk for the rest of the night. They talked about work, Spencer shared some facts about ice skating, and they talked about his mom. Evangeline was opening up to him so Spencer felt safe talking to her about his mother. Evangeline noticed he didn't mention his mom much. From what Spencer told her Evangeline got the impression she was an amazing person, she gathered that Spencers mom was smart and intelligent. She figured that's where his love of books came from. Soon the topic changed and they started talking about books. Spencer went on and on about some of his favorites while Evangeline listened. She quite liked listening to Spencer ramble on and on about his favorite authors. She was glad to have a friend like Spencer. Friend. As Spencer kept talking she began thinking about it. Was Spencer her friend, or was he more. The more she thought about it the more she realized she liked him. She pushed the thought away. Far...far away. They were work buddies. nothing more than friends. 

"Hey Spencer, it's getting late. i'm gonna head to bed"

"Ok E. I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Ok night." With that Evangeline hung up the phone and gathered her clothes. She went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. In the shower she kept thinking about him. Dr Spencer Reid. Did she like him?
