Sounds of the wind blowing through my hair made me look up to the sky, it was dark already and Geralt had already fallen asleep next to the fire. My legs pulled up into my chest with a blanket wrapped tightly around my shivering shoulders, I looked back to the fire. Images fluttered past like a lost dream trying to remember what happened. It was no dream but a memory yet stuck in my mind, never to leave.
I had ran away from Blaviken, my reason, a man. Stronger than me and apparently more believable to them. He violated me that night and yet no one listened when I told them, they all called me names. 'Liar' 'Whore' 'Witch' So, I ran. I ended up in a small village where I camped out in the woods surrounding.
Vengerberg.
It wasn't long before I began doing tasks for the town in exchange for coin to survive. I hunted and did labour just to afford my survival. It was a day where a pig farmer had hired me for the first time, I was to clean out one of his stables. What I didn't know was that his daughter would be there in the dark parts of the room.
Giggling reached my ears as I stood straight, I was well built for a girl and didn't bat an eye to wearing mens clothes, and so I stood in rolled up trousers and a tucked in shirt. Seeing a couple making out by the stable door I rolled my eyes and continued working, until from another corner of the stables a bucket was tipped. Snapping my head to the corner I glanced to the couple to see them staring in to the abyss as well. Out came a girl.
Her hair was dark brown almost black. Skin pale and flawless. Her eyes though enticed me. Those stunning Violet eyes, something about them just drew me in closer.
"Oh look, it's the freak." A voice from behind me spoke as I drew my eyes away from her.
"You better watch out for her." The boy said as he moved forwards laughing. Confused I gave them a questioning look.
"She's a freak, just look at her. Ugliest thing I've ever to see." The girl laughed out as I grew angry.
"Get the fuck out." I growled at them making them look at me confused.
"What?" The boy asked.
"You heard me." Stubbornly I turned my body to them.
"Urgh lets leave the freak to her protector." The girl replied as she grabbed the boys hand and then they left.
"They're gone now." Turning around I looked for the girl but she wasn't there, so I continued. "Please come out." I almost begged to see her again. After a moment she emerged from behind a pillar slowly just staring at me. Stepping forwards I held my hand out top her. "It's okay, you're safe." She seemed to be my age.
"Who are you?" Her words questioning and untrusting.
"My name is Yolanda, I'm not from around here." I spoke softly as I motioned her forwards. "What's your name?"
"Yennefer." Was all she said. I smiled sweetly at her. She was beautiful, her eyes stood out against her pale skin, I hadn't noticed but she seemed to have a physical deformity. I didn't let that enter my mind as I motioned her to follow me. Finishing my job up I told her to wait for a minute as I went to my employer and got paid. Taking the money I ran back to where I had left the girl.
"Would you like to walk with me?" I asked nervously hoping she would say yes. Slightly nodding I tilted my head and headed towards my camp in the woods. "We're almost there." I assured as I saw her look behind her.
"Almost where?" She questioned not trusting me yet, I just smiled and pushed through the last few branches.
"It's where I've been staying." Turning around I saw her staring at me. "Are you hungry?" With a small nod as my answer I found my satchel and pulled out two packages. "Here." I sat down on a log placed by my soon to be fire I handed the package.
