Chapter 3 - Ass Whooping

I make my way downstairs , with Leo closely following me . I walk into an actual shit storm with the whole kitchen upside down as my mom runs around like a headless chicken spatula in hand . My 11 year old brother aka Satans hellhound aka biggest pain in my butt standing Sans pants in his captain America undies with his head halfway inside the fridge . He was literally slurping milk directly from the carton without brushing his teeth , uggh nasty nasty boy . The kid has the worst dental hygiene I've ever seen . To my right my four year old baby sister Acacia was finger painting with her food using her chubby little fingers in her high chair . ADORABLE .As I tried to grab a muffin and slowly back away before I was in the line of fire . I almost fell flat on my ass as Leo zipped right between my legs .

I around and finally realized that my mom was chasing Leo around with a spatula. He had a piece of salted bacon in his mouth thats not meant for him . I sigh and yell Leos name and he comes to an immediate skidding halt and sits . Drop it ! I ordered him sternly . He then proceeds to hit me with the most effective puppy dog eyes. Baby you know that doesnt work on momma , now drop it ! . He spits it out after he realized that I am not going to budge , internally Im trying my hardest not to melt . He looks so sad about the bacon and his eyes get real big and defeated when hes upset but I have to remind myself that the sodium is bad for him . After he dropped the bacon and I throw it away , I award him with a couple of dog treats for listening to me and for being a VERY good boy . Little bugger knows I cant leave the house with him pouting . I spend a couple more seconds giving him scritches. Then I realized how I late I was . " oh crap crap crap , holy fucknuggets " I curse forgetting the toddler next to me . I almost drop my muffin as my mom screams my name . Hell hath no fury like my mother when she catches me cursing .

I quickly grab my muffin and run towards the door , when I remembered what I forgot . I run back and see Acacia still in her high chair who now had mashed peas all over her face . I wipe her mouth and give her a hasty kiss on her nose and forehead like I do always . Its kind of an everyday ritual with me and her . My day isnt always complete without this and the fact that I always hear her giggling after I kiss her followed by her saying I love you in the cutest voice ever always squeezes my heart . I love you too pumpkin I tell her. Well, the Ice Queens heart doesnt thaw for everyone does it , just for my two babies Leo and Cia . Thats when I notice my brother making weird faces at me , and me being the mature person I am projectile launched the wet washcloth from my hand which landed on Aidens face with a wet plop sound . Mash peas and all,and him dropping the carton of milk on the floor followed by a prehistoric pterodactyl screech . Ooopsie .. sorry not sorry.

I quickly run out for doing what I did. Shit like that dont fly in my Indian household . I am half Indian from my mothers side so I know the ass whopping Id be in for . Most people dont known that Im half south Asian because I dont look it and the name Teagan doesnt help either . My mom wanted to name me something quintessentially Indian but my dad had already picked out a name before I was born . He first heard my name in Doctor who and then and there decided he wanted to name his kid that . My name coupled with my surname Lux made almost every person guess my ethnicity wrong . The same people when corrected would either say I dont look exotic enough or that dont look like a red neck enough unapologetically with zero remorse .

I walk across the lawn to wait for my ride to school when I jump back narrowly missing breaking my neck and going through a windshield because I almost got ploughed to death by a car .
