Sorry it's been so long since I posted, I've just been kind of busy. I also wasn't sure about how I was going to end this, and I'm still not sure I like the ending, but at least I finally finished it. I've got some other stories in the works, but if you have any suggestions for a plot, please let me know and I'll do my best to write it.
Harry made his way to the field where he and Draco often met up durning the evening's after Hogwarts were asleep. But right now the sun when burning bright, which made Harry a bit anxious on why Draco has asked to meet so urgently.
"Hey. I got your owl. What do you-"
"We can't see each other anymore." Draco cut off Harry midsentence.
Harry let out a dry laugh.
"What are you talking about?" Harry asked, refusing to believe what he just heard. Instead of replying, Draco took a deep breath, and pulled his sleeve up, reveling the mark of a Deatheater.
Harry's breath hitched as he took in the sight of the black mark against Draco's plae skin. If it didn't mean something so evil, it would've been beautiful.
"No." Harry said, but he couldn't deny the truth. He had always known, just refused to let himself think about it. But in the back of his head, it was there.
He had never seen Draco in short sleeves. And there were no reasonable explanation on where he was always sneaking off to and never telling.
"I'm sorry." Draco said, looking away in shame.
"No, it's okay. I don't care. I know it's not your fault. We can still be together." Harry insisted.
Harry scoffed and looked back at Harry.
"This isn't about what you think about it, Potter. It isn't safe. If you got hurt-" Draco squeezed his eyes shut and took a shaky breath. "If you got hurt, or worse, because of me. Harry, I wouldn't forgive myself. I'm doing this for you." Draco said, avoiding eye contact with Harry. Because damnit, if he looked into those green eyes, his heart would shatter.
"Please, I don't want- I can't lose you, Draco." Harry pleaded, and Draco shook his head.
"You won't lose me. I'll always love you, more than anything." The blonde tried his best to keep a calm tone.
"Bushit!" Harry yelled, shoving Draco. But it was half hearted and wasn't intended to actually hurt him, so Draco didn't budge. "Pleased." Harry said, quite this time.
He threw his arms around Draco and buried his face in his neck.
Draco didn't have the strength to push him away. So he hugged back tightly, trying his best to comfort the love of his life, his heart slowly breaking as the sobs raked over Harry's body.
Draco stepped away and laid his fingers under Harry's chin, forcing the raven to look up at him.
"I love you." Draco said, his voice cracking. He leaned in and kissed Harry soft lips.
"I love you, so much." Harry replied, as Draco wiped his tears away.
Draco took a long look at Harry, memorizing his face, taking in every feature he could, before he turned away, and didn't look back, because if he did, he'd see Harry shaking and sobbing and it'd kill Draco even more.
***Draco looked in the mirror and held the blade to his death mark. He never cut his skin, but he imaged slicing into his flesh so deep that he could carve the mark out. Then he'd be free from the Deatheater life so he could run away with Harry be happy.
