رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ، آپ فرماتے تھے : اللہ تعالیٰ علم کو لوگوں سے چھینتے ہوئے نہیں اٹھائے گا بلکہ وہ علماء کو اٹھا کر علم کو اٹھا لے گا حتی کہ جب وہ ( لوگوں میں ) کسی عالم کو ( باقی ) نہیں چھوڑے گا تو لوگ ( دین کے معاملات میں بھی ) جاہلوں کو اپنے سربراہ بنا لیں گے ۔ ان سے ( دین کے بارے میں )سوال کیے جائیں گے تو وہ علم کے بغیر فتوے دیں گے ، اس طرح خود بھی گمراہ ہوں گے اور دوسروں کو بھی گمراہ کریں گے ۔

Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alahih Wasallam said Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to the ignorant as their leaders; then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray.
