All my life I've been good but now
Ooooh
I'm thinking, what the hell?
All I want is to mess around
And I don't really care aboutIf you love me, if you hate me
You can't save me, baby, baby
All my life I've been good but now
Whoa, what the hell? - What the Hell by Avril LavigneYvette was back in her room, sprawled on her bed with her eyes closed. All the participants were staying in the lodge which was located five minutes away from the DGrounds. She was sharing her room with the pretty girl from Vento, whose name, she had later learnt, was Phoebe Anais Robert. The girl hadn't come back to the room. Yvette guessed that she was lounging with the boys, her best friends.
She had met Asher after the first level was over while heading to the Refreshment rooms. A smile traced her lips as she recounted the incident.
She was walking hurriedly, not wanting to encounter the Militiam and the other participants. She wasn't ready for questions because she simply had no answers. I don't want them calling the Fia head, she thought, I don't want to be taken back, or standing for a trial for breaking one the most prestigious Fia rules. I need to win the tournament and show-
"Hey! Wait up!" She turned around, surprised to see that It was the other guy who had stood with Mr. Blue Eyes. "Yvette right?" He asked, as he hesitantly walked closer. She was about to show him her trademark rudeness but halted. He was an inch taller than her with dyed red hair. He had startling, cryatal blue eyes. This guy seems nice. I guess he's not looking for gossip, just curious, she thought, don't be rude! Don't be rude! She chanted this mantra in her head before speaking.
"Obviously! And you are?" She cocked her eyebrow. Well, that wasn't my usual mean. I'm getting better each day!
The guy extended his hand in greeting. "I am the great Asher from the airy Vento! Pleased to make your acquaintance!" Her lips twitched. This guy Is unbelievable! She made it a personal rule to never shake hands. But this guy had something about him that made her ignore the rule. She wanted to talk with him. He looked like the person with open arms for anyone. He smiled broadly as they shook hands.
She started walking again and Asher followed like a puppy. "So what's up? Why did you stop me?"
"Just wanted to talk with the new attraction here," He smirked. "My two best friends will be really jealous if they came to know about it."
She stopped walking and laughed. "New attraction? What am I, a showpiece?"
"Right now, yea. To everyone here, you're like a goddess. With nice, dark hair, a beautiful face and fierce eyes..."
"Oh stop with the flattery. None of what you said is true. I am just another participant, determined to get through the day."
"A Fia participant," He said with emphasis.
"Is there a reason to why you are here other than to get on my good side?" She smirked. This conversation is heading nowhere!
"Nop..." He said. The he snapped his fingers, face brightening. "Actually, I want you to be my plus one!" He stepped forward. Now, he was standing really close to her face, his right hand positioned in front of his stomach, palm faced upwards. She realized that he wanted her to place her hand in his In acceptance. The old fashioned prince charming way... "So, what's it going to be?"
The close proximity was clouding her thoughts. Too close, her brain was thinking of an exit. She stepped back, already knowing that it was a bad idea. Asher stepped forward, his body in the same position except he was standing even closer than last time. This guy Is unbelievable! "Is it that hard of a decision to make?" He asked, brows pinched in confusion and hurt.
