I know you've been hurt by someone else
I can tell by the way you carry yourself
If you let me, here's what I'll do
I'll take care of you
I've loved and I've lost

-Take Care, Drake

All Yvette could ever think about was Aurem. She couldn't get what Asher meant when he said that he didn't know if Aurem was going to date anyone. He was a good looking guy alright, but what did Asher mean.

Asher and Yvette had spoken for some time in the hallway until Asher had to go and talk to the Militiam about his parents. Remembering her promise Yvette went back to her room and changed into sweats and headed down to the practice grounds. The morning was filled with hope. She could feel it. Something was going to happen today. And she has a feeling that this something is going to change her life forever.

Walking down to the grounds, Yvette noticed that she was the only one there.

Thank god. She thought to herself. I don't need another Tiffany to spoil my afternoon. Although Tiffany did seem like a nice girl, there was something about her that Yvette couldn't quite put her fingers to. Perhaps it was the fact that Tiffany speaks way too much than any other person she had met before.

Standing in front of the racing track, Yvette was about to start running, when suddenly out of nowhere someone attacked her. Immediately without even thinking, Yvette used her powers. Within seconds her element had left her fingers and the person was caught up in a fire. She didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. The only thing she could see was the fire around the person.

He came to attack me. That seems like the only logical explanation. Otherwise why would he pounce on me like that? I mean some people don't like me over here. They consider me a great threat that has to be extinguished as soon as possible. Yvette thought to herself.

Yvette lowered her element slightly to see if she could put a name to the face of the person. Lowering her element slightly, she noticed that the person was a boy because of his flat chest. Lowering her element more she noticed that he was none other than the one and only Aurem.

She immediately withdrew her whole element back to herself. Looking at Aurem, she felt bad. He looked miserable.

"What on Earth do you think you were doing? Were you trying to attack me? I should have never trusted you! I thought you didn't want to hurt me! I thought I finally met some people who I could call my friends! And now here you are attacking me-" Yvette started accusing just before Aurem cut her off.

"Is that what you think I was doing? I was just trying to scare you for god's sake. I thought you were too rigid out there and wanted you to loosen up. And what do I get in return for being a nice friend? Wait I'll tell you. A BURNED SHIRT! That's what it is!"

Looking at Aurem Yvette realized that she had burned his shirt. She hadn't noticed it before.

"And what were you doing here?" Yvette said trying to get her mind of the fact that he was shirtless. It would be right to point out that Yvette never cared much about shirtless guys. I mean you see them everywhere. But, with Aurem it was something different. It just seemed like she couldn't take her eyes off him. He did have a much toned body now that she noticed it. And he had gorgeous eyes too. Mid-night blue eyes. A color you hardly see in anyone's eyes. He was built up, but not that quiet and he had jet black hair. His skin was a color she couldn't put her name to. Something fair but then again not that quite.

"I was practicing when I noticed you all alone here I have never quite spoken to you yet since you're always with Asher so I thought why not come up to you and talk now. You do know there are other people out there who want to keep you to themselves too, other than Asher." Aurem replied to her question.

And just in that very moment Yvette knew something had changed.

Aurem had never expected that to come out in the way it sounded. All he wanted to say was that Yvette should come and spend time with other people. She was constantly with Asher and he had never seen her talking to anyone one else. Denying that he meant the sentence like that would make matters worse and make it sound like he did mean to say it like that. So instead of correcting himself and making a fun out of him, he decided to leave it hanging there. After all Yvette wouldn't take it in that sense. Although he kind of wished she'd take it in that way. What was he talking?

"As I was saying, it would be a little nice if you talk to other people. Not to be mean or anything. And I also noticed that your self-defense is pretty screwed up. Like serious. You attacked me with all your element which was the total wrong thing to do. And it seemed like you didn't have that much control over it. A little mistake and you could have possibly killed me. And we both know we don't want that to happen to anyone especially on the grounds." Asher said in a friendly tone.

"Are you suggesting I don't know how to govern my element? That you know my element better than me."

Aurem shrugged and said, "Look, trust me on this one. I have controlled my element more than you can think. Even though it is not legal. But I have done it. And I know a lot about how to control and use it. I have had a fair share of practices over the years and I could teach you if you want. All I'm saying is that you're a Fia. And most of the people out there are after you're life. You would want to know how to defend yourself in case you need to. And you can't with that kind of skills. So let me show you how to. I wouldn't want you to get hurt."

And there Aurem went again with the flirting part. It was almost like he couldn't control himself and he definitely didn't know where it was coming from.

Looking over Yvette, he realized that she had noticed the flirting. Aurem opened his mouth to say something before Yvette cut him off.

"Like I didn't know that." she said.

"Which part?" Aurem asked sarcastically. Yvette just smiled.

"You know what I agree with you. I need to learn how to defend myself and my element. I need to be prepared for anything. But I only want to know one thing."

"What?"

"What is in it for you?"

"I don't know. Maybe I will just get some time to know you and be a friend."

Maybe it was the fire that maybe set him off into flirting mode or something else. But he felt like this day was going to be one hell of a day if it began like this.
