Luka sat on the bed with his eyes closed, a concentrated expression on his face, as he played a soft tune in his guitar.
He stopped every now and then, scribbling the music notes on a notebook that lay open in front of him.
As he strummed the last note, and suddenly a string tore. He looked at the guitar disappointedly, he had to repair it.
Luka loved this instrument very much.
It was Marinette's gift to him on their first anniversary.
On the thought of his sweet wife, a wide smile made way to his lips. Marinette was cooking lunch downstairs. She had returned home earlier than usual and had decided to cook something for him, as it was very rare for her to get off work this early.
However, Marinette had strictly forbidden him to enter the kitchen.
The last time he did, they had became so 'engaged' that the food burnt and they had to order delivery from a restaurant.
Luka looked at the broken guitar and something struck him.
He suddenly remembered something that his mother had said to him as a child. He sat there, motionless, for a while, seemingly deep in his thoughts.
A sad expression crept into his blue eyes, although a smile was still stretched on his lips. He hurriedly made his way to the laptop and sat down at the desk. Luka typed two documents and printed them out. Then, he kept them in his drawer, his hands trembling a little. He looked at the closed drawer and sighed deeply.
"Honey, lunch is ready!" Marinette called out to him from downstairs.
Luka shut off the laptop and stood up. He jogged downstairs and saw his wife setting out plates and bowls on the table.
Seeing him, she smiled. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
He pressed a kiss on her hair," I love you."
She giggled," I love you too. Now, get off. I need to serve. "
Luka quietly obeyed her. He sat down on a chair and looked at the assortments of oriental food on the table.
He sniffed adorably and she burst out laughing. She sat down next to him, busily serving rice from the steaming bowl in her hand.
As they ate, conversation flowed between them, her new design line, his new records, their friends, concerns about Adrien.
Unlike the stereotype husbands, Luka didn't get all overprotective when his wife talked about her first love.
On the stark contrast, he shared Marinette's deep concern about him. He knew that even though she wasn't interested in Adrien romantically, she loved him like a brother.
Since a year now, Adrien had changed into someone they didn't know. Someone who hooked up with random girls, frequenting night clubs, having one night stands and spending money like water. None of his friends even knew his phone number, except Marinette. He answered only to her, treating others like thin air. Marinette had told him many times to change himself, and it was only this subject that made him flip out.
Marinette looked at Luka as she gestured with her fork, "By the way, did you know, Myléne's pregnant again? "
Luka smiled, "Oh. That's good news. "
She nodded. Marinette looked unsure as she stared down at her plate, stabbing the meat in smaller pieces.
She said, her eyes still fixed in the table,
"Umm... Luka... would you like a kid, I mean, our kid ... like right at this point of time? "
