The bridge was far away from the bustling locality. All of the buildings had been under construction from the time I was in grade 7. My feet made a crunchy noise on the gravel as I walked, but I realized, surprisingly, that I have never listened to it so carefully before. The sound seemed to disturb the tranquillity and stillness of the atmosphere; I felt like I was waking up every single brick from their peaceful sleep. Everything was grey, along with the ground, and dipped in a magical glowing moonlight.

They never finished building the bridge. Rumours spread that all the engineers working on this project died because the bridge was said to be made on someone's grave. That didn't scare us 7th graders at all, instead we laughed it off. It now looks something like if some giant bended a huge tower. I could hear their muffled and faint voices as I advanced.

"What are you waiting for, Jihoon?" mumbled Kai all of a sudden and everyone's head turned towards me.

I gave an awkward grin and walked up to them, the last thing I wanted to do.

"You still look so lost. Have you eaten yet?" asked Kai.

"Hoseok got paid today, and we got a large pizza to celebrate!" squeaked Jimin in excitement.

"Paid on the first day?" I asked, struggling to remember if there was any detail I forgot about.

"Well I requested for an advance... just wanted to give you guys a treat" Hoseok blushed.

I felt like a stranger amidst this happiness and excitement. The longer I stared, the further they seemed to be moving away from me. My memories with them were getting distorted and misty. Did I not want them anymore? Did my hatred towards them get so intense that I forgot how much they actually cared about me? My eyes hurt. My head wanted to explode with pain. I could feel my whole eyeball, aching with every beat of my heart and ready to come out.

Suddenly, I began falling down a hole, a pitch black hole. Darkness swallowed me, and I kept falling, happy at the thought that I escaped from their "happy" moment and terrified at the thought of crashing at the hard end of the hole...
