10: Family Photos

Carter asked me to be his girlfriend once again.

I told him I would think about it, but to be honest, I'm not quite sure I want to go back to him, he's a great friend, and even more of a brotherly figure, I just don't think I want an intimate relationship with him.

I call up Cason and tell him everything, he invited me over and I told him if get my dad to drive me over in 10.

"Hey daddy, can you take me to Cason's house, we're gonna hang out for a little bit." I say.

"Yeah, let me just slip on my shoes."

I thank him and go wait in the car. He shows up about two minutes later with his shoes on and his car keys in hand.

He starts the car and we drive over to the Hood's estate.

I knock on the door and as soon as Cason opens it I wave goodbye to my father who us pulling out of the long ass drive way.

"How are ya?" Cason asks, pulling me into a nice hug. He smells good.

"I'm... I don't know, I don't want to date Carter anymore, I don't think. He's too much like a brother to me, you see, you and I have always had some sort of flirty relationship, Carter was just always the older boy who made it his life's duty to protect me. I just don't want to hurt him-"

"What? Like he hurt you?"

"Cason, that was kind of my fault, but anyways, I don't wanna talk about it." I say to him.

We walk inside the living room and I see a box with a bunch of pictures sitting on the coffee table.

"What are these?" I ask, picking up a picture of Cason's dad, Calum, holding Cason.

"Oh, it's just old pictures I found in the attic. I thought it would be cool to check them out, wanna look with me?" He asks.

"Duh!" I reply, taking a seat right next to Cason on the couch and pulling out a huge stack of the pictures.

"Look Cas, it's a pic of you kissing me when we were little. See what I mean?" I say to him.

"Yeah, I do. Hey! Look at this one, I'm hanging you a daisy! Daisies are still your favorite, right?" He asks. I nod my head yes.

We look through the pictures until Calum gets home and then we show him the pictures, some making him laugh, others making him upset.

We put the photos up and Cason asks me to stay for dinner, I text my dad, asking if I can, and I get a reply of; yes.

"Yeah, I can stay for dinner, do you want me to help Calum?" I ask Cason's dad.

"That would be great. Can you start making the salad for me?" He asks and I tell him, of course.

Calum turns on some music I've never heard before but immediately love.

"Wow! This band is amazing!" I say as I start to sing along.

" When we both fall asleep

Mr. Hood sings along perfectly to the tune of the song and it kind of sounds like him on the recording but it can't be, he must have just loved the song as well.

"If you don't mind me asking sir, who is this band?" I ask Calum.

"Oh just some stupid punk rock band, I uh, loved when I was a teen." He says.

"Oh, well, there fucking fantastic." Cason says.

"Yeah, they were son." Calum says and smiles to himself.

I finish up on the salad and we eat in a nice silence that I honestly haven't heard in a while.

"Thank you guys for letting me stay for dinner." I say and hug each one of them.

"Bye, Hoodlums." I say and wink.

"Bye Miss Hemmings." Cason calls.

"Should be Mrs. Hood someday, ain't i right dad?" Cason says to his dad.

"If Ya win her over son. If Ya win her over."

So it's obvious that none of the kids in the story have mums, okay? It's all about 5Sos and their kids. Just be creative and think of some way the mums left... Or died! Lol no, I'm just kidding, let's just say they ran away after having the babies.
