"You guys are already going on a field trip? But school has only been in session for," Izuku paused for a moment, "seventeen days." He held his green phone in his hand, blisters and burn wounds lined his fingers and knuckles, "I know, it was rather surprising actually." Ochako said on the other end, the sounds of welding came from behind him, "so you still aren't done with your project?" Izuku shook his head, "nope! But we should be done with it by tonight," Izuku looked over at Mei as she welded the head onto the machine. "Hey, Midoriya? Do you want to put the crowning piece on this baby of ours?" Izuku nodded, "sure; sorry Uraraka-San, I have to go," he hung up the phone. "W-Wait!" Ochako tried to yell, "never mind, he already hung up..." She sighed before falling onto her back, "I guess his inventions come before his friends." A quick smack to her face from her own hand fixed her, "what am I saying? This is the biggest thing he's ever done, I should be happy for him instead of being sad over his choice to leave me alone." She looked at her ceiling fan as it spun, "but it's really boring to be alone in this house. Maybe I should get Bakugou-Kun's number tomorrow? I should totally do it before the field trip Thursday, that way I can get him to be friendly with me. It sucks that his only friend is in an entirely different class than him," she sank into her pillow and pulled her lamp chain down, leaving her room in the darkness. Outside, an object flew away from her window and into the dark night.

"And," Izuku stopped welding when he reached the start of this weld line, "we're done!" He flipped his helmet and set his tool down, an overwhelming sense of joy filled him to the point of where he was going to hug someone. But a blush quickly settled on his face as he realized that Mei was hugging him from behind, even if it was for a brief moment. "I should test this out right now, shouldn't I?" Izuku asked, "of course, what good is an inventor if they doesn't test their own inventions?" He shrugged before taking off his shirt and got onto it before laying down on it. He unfastened his leg bracings and set them down to the side of the machine before flipping over onto his stomach. "The affected area is the twenty second vertebrae disk, ruptured nerve sac," he stated as robot-like as possible. "Alright, prepare yourself," Izuku closed his eyes as a mechanical whirr sounded overhead, a cold needle entered his spine. It was a dosage of anesthesia that was powerful enough to dull the pain of pregnancy, he felt it exit his skin and then only pins and needles after that. Another whirr sounded overhead as the machine changed its tool head to a scalpel, it quickly made four incisions around his spinal disk and pulled the skin away after making another change in the tool. A small needle now became the tool that was injected into the disk, it pulled away before placing the slab of flesh back in its original position. It wiped the blood away from Izuku's wound and brought out a cautery pen that burned the skin patch back into place. "Is it done?" Izuku looked up only to see Mei in front of his face, staring behind him with stars in her eyes. "Our baby works much better than expected, especially on its test run."
Izuku chuckled, "that's what you get w-did you just say 'our baby?'" His skin slightly reddened, "any invention is a baby, and because we both worked on this, it's our baby!" Mei exclaimed, unaware that Izuku was regretting every choice he's made up to this point because of her words. "Anyways, it's time to see if it truly worked," Izuku looked back to see her pull a safety pin from a pocket in the jacket around her waist. "Wait, Hatsume-Chama what are you doing?" She moved a small bit of his shorts out of the way, "not much, can you tell me if you feel this?" A small stabbing pain pushed into his right leg, his gastrocnemius muscles responded by hardening and pushing the metal needle out from his skin. "Oh, would you look at that, it works!" A yawn came from Mei, before a loud thud sounded out from the ground. "Hatsume-Chama?" Izuku peered over the operating table to see her passed out on the ground, "what time is it anyways?" He pulled his phone from his pocket and lit up the touchscreen, "oh, it was tomorrow." The screen displayed that it was 3:00 on a Sunday morning...they began to work on Friday at 4:00 in the afternoon of Saturday. "Does she always sleep like this when she makes her babies?"
