A/N: Based on Saiyan Scholar's YouTube videos of the same question with forgotten or currently bland DBZ characters, this is a chapter for what happened to Anguirus throughout the Godzilla Franchise.

In the Godzilla franchise, Anguirus is one of the most popular fan favorites. In only fifth place as the Top 5 most memorable Non-Godzilla monsters in the franchise, it stands out as not just an underdog, but a fierce monster that has earned our respects through its courage despite having little to no chances of winning against any of its enemies, to a determined monster that never knows when to give up (sometimes that happens when it's close to being killed).

However, there is only one problem that made us all upset with the monster's issues in the franchise....... What the HELL happened?

Anguirus was first introduced in the first sequel of the Godzilla movies, Godzilla Raids Again. What sucked miserably about this movie is that not only was Anguirus just a random monster to fight Godzilla with an explanation behind his origins to be simple but so bland, he's just there to make the movie a boring cash cow made to milk the first film.

See? Most of the movie, it's just him and Godzilla fighting for whatever reason

See? Most of the movie, it's just him and Godzilla fighting for whatever reason. And by the time he was killed, I barely felt anything for him due to how obvious the fight was going to turn out and how Anguirus didn't really bond much with us, mostly due to the perspectives of people where they're just two monsters fighting and they're caught in the middle. Although the fight scenes themselves were pretty decent, that's all I can say for the positive side on Anguirus' role in the first sequel.
There was no impact that made him great, no legacy or anything or the sort that made him a great monster at the time, so if anything! He only drove the Toho company and its producers to make a crossover film of Godzilla with King Kong in order to make more money and bring back all of the acclaim from their audiences. With a promised battle between Japan's greatest monster icon as well as America's first cinematic Ape.
