MARINETTE'S POV

"Marinette, you're overreacting,"

"No I'm not Tikki. I have to get to school on time, and prove that Lila's lying, before she tells them another lie," I said between breaths.

I was currently running down the pavement on my way to school. I was so busy talking to Tikki, I didn't notice that the traffic light was on green and I was running on the road. I finally realized what I was doing, when I heard a car horn. It was heading straight for me.

I felt my feet frozen to the spot, I couldn't move.

"Marinette, LOOK OUT!"

I couldn't process who called out to me. I was bracing myself for the impact of the car.

It was getting closer.

And closer...

When I felt an arm, pull me to the side. I was now wrapped between two arms. I was still in shock after what just happened.

I slowly opened my eyes, and saw a white shirt. Before I could realize who it was, the person was shaking me by my shoulders.

"Marinette, what's wrong with you?" When my head stopped spinning, I found myself staring at green eyes.

"Adrien?" I muttered.

He pulled me into a tight hug, "You have to be more careful, Marinette," He spoke softly into my hair.

He pulled away from me, with his hand still on my shoulders, "What if something had happened to you?"

Okay, Marinette keep it together, just say I'm fine, "Adrien, I'm fine," Nailed it!

"Fine?" He asked with raised eyebrows, "Marinette don't lie to me. You're clearly not okay,"

"Seriously, I'm fine,"

He started checking my hand for injuries. He let out a sigh of relief. "Marinette, don't scare me like that. Why were you in such a hurry?"

That question brought me back to reality.

ADRIEN'S POV

"Because I'm going to prove Lila's lying, that's why," she started searching her purse for something, and I caught a glimpse of something red, but it disappeared almost instantly. Weird.

She got out her phone and started typing something.

"Marinette, what are you talking about?"

"Well, yesterday she said Lolirock dedicated a song to her," she said, her eyes still glued to her phone, "So, I went online and found out the song couldn't possibly be dedicated to her," She showed me her screen, "Because, it was dedicated to her Aunt Ellen." She seemed pretty proud of herself.

I let my hands leave the spot on her shoulders, and fall to my side.

"ARE YOU NUTS?! You mean to tell me that you risked getting run over, because of LILA!" I was flailing my hands around.

"But, now I can prove to everyone that Lila's lying,"

"Marinette," I said putting my hands back on her shoulder, "Exposing her won't do us any good,"

"But..." I put a finger on her lips, shushing her.

"She'll only cook up another lie, proving that you're lying," I remove my hand from her lips and let go of her shoulder.

She looked glum at first, then she looked at me and nodded.

"I guess you're right,"

"Come on, lets go inside," I smiled and took her hand in mine.
