Denki sat in the cafeteria with the bakusquad, staring at the tray of food in front of him. He had eaten a total of two bites.
Kyoka sighed, "Kaminari, you need to eat."
Denki shook his head, "No, I'm waiting for Eiji."
"Dude, it's been 30 minutes. Just eat." Hanta said.
"No," Denki looked at Katsuki, "Kacchan, he really didn't tell you where he was going?"
Katsuki shook his head, "Nope. Just said he had to take care of something." he didn't feel bad lying. He knew it was best Denki didn't know that Eijirou had gone to the teachers.
Denki frowned, leaning back in his seat, "I'm not eating until he gets here. We always eat together unless agreed upon beforehand."
"Make an exception," Mina pushed his food closer to him, "You need to eat. We have no idea when he'll be back."
"No!" Denki pushed the food away and stood up, "I'm gonna go look for him."
"Kaminari, no," Kyoka said, "You've barely eaten the past few days. You can't skip another meal."
"Kaminari, sit the fuck down. Now." Katsuki said, glaring at him.
Denki stood still for a moment, then sat back down, "You don't have to be so mean about it."
"Shut up, stop bitching about Shitty Hair, and eat your goddamn food."
Denki frowned, "Kacchan's mean." he grumbled quietly as he picked up a fork and stabbed his food.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, "Call me mean all you want, just fucking eat," he went back to eating his own food.
Kyoka sighed, leaning back in her seat, "Kirishima will be upset if you don't eat. So just go on and eat."
"Fine." Denki finally took a bite of his food.
Mina smiled, "Thank you."
Denki kept eating as his friends started conversing. He didn't want to participate in the conversation, he wanted his boyfriend. By the time he had eaten half his food, he couldn't take it anymore.
He stood back up, "I'm going to find Eiji."
Hanta frowned, "Dude, he's probably caught up in something important."
"I don't care, I'm going to look for him."
Katsuki looked at him, trying to figure out a new way to get him to stay. Just being mean wouldn't work twice. He couldn't think of anything.
Denki grabbed his lunch tray and walked off, finding his boyfriend was the only thing on his mind. After throwing his trash away, he started wandering the halls between the cafeteria and the 1A classroom. Eijirou had to be somewhere around there.
When he passed the bathroom closest to the classroom he decided to peek in there, "Eiji? You in here?"
There were a few thuds in a stall but the door didn't open, "How did you find me?"
"I just thought this was a good place to look- Wait, were you purposefully hiding from me?"
Eijirou hesitated, "N-no. Why would you think that?"
"You chose a weird manner of phrase... Are you okay in there?"
Eijirou opened the bathroom stall, "Yeah, sorry if I worried you."
Denki walked up to him, "Your eyes are red."
Eijirou reached up and rubbed them, "It's allergy season."
"No, it's not."
"Well- They're just itchy, it's fine."
Denki frowned, "If something happened you can tell me."
Eijirou shook his head, "Nothing happened. I'm fine."
"You're obviously not fine, Eiji," Denki reached to hold his hand, "Come on, talk to me. You promised you'd let me take care of you."
Eijirou started tearing up but used his free hand to rub his eyes, "It's nothing, Denki. Just drop it."
"Eiji, you're crying. How can it be nothing if you're crying?"
Eijirou bit his lip and closed his eyes, going silent.
"Eiji, please."
Eijirou sniffled a bit, "I-I... I did something bad..."
"What happened?"
Eijirou let his hand go, "I'm not supposed to tell you. You'll find out after school."
Denki frowned, "The fuck does that mean?"
"Aizawa wants to talk to you after school. He'll tell you."
Denki looked confused, "What did you do to make him want to talk to me?" his eyes then widened, "Eiji, you didn't. Please tell me you didn't."
Eijirou kept his eyes closed, he didn't want to see Kaminari's face.
Denki backed away from him, "You told him, didn't you?"
Eijirou just nodded, he couldn't find the right words to say to make this better.
"You promised you wouldn't tell anyone! Why would you tell him?!"
Tears started falling down Eijirou's face, "I'm sorry." His voice broke.
Denki didn't say anything else.
Eijirou waited for him to speak but he didn't. When he finally opened his eyes, Denki was gone. He had run off quietly enough that Eijirou hadn't heard him leave.
"I'm sorry." Eijirou whispered to the empty bathroom as more tears fell.
He stepped back and leaned against the wall, his body starting to shake with sobs. He slid down the wall, falling to the floor as he cried.
He just lost his boyfriend. Denki didn't have to say anything. His silence was enough.
Denki left Eijirou in more ways than one.
