Joseph and Jay arrive in the training area where the others were waiting. "Hey guys!" Handler waved excitedly. "Alright Eleanor, you ready to show us your skills?" Joseph asked. "Yes sir, I'm ready." Eleanor confirmed with confidence. "Good, now show us some basic attacks." Joseph ordered. Eleanor readied her bow and shot arrows at the barrels scattered around the field. "Make sure to move around, don't stand in one place!" Joseph shouted advice from the sidelines. Soon enough, Eleanor was dodging gracefully while landing vicious attacks.

Jay and the palicos sat there and watched. Jay was in awe watching Eleanor train, "Wow, she's gorgeous." "Hmm, what's that meowster?" Xavier asked. Jay stuttered, "Oh, u-ummm n-nothing!" Xavier tilted his head curiously. Eleanor was done with her training after a few more hours. "Alright good job, Eleanor. You're a natural at this!" Joseph told her. She smiled, "Thanks, Joseph!" Eleanor went over to Jay, "Hey Jay what did you think?" "It was honestly amazing." Jay smiled. Xavier purred, "I think it was pawesome too!" "Yeah it was pawesome it was like boom and then swoosh!" Serra meowed.

"Aww, you guys are too nice." Eleanor pat their heads. "I-It was a v-very nice purrformance, m-meowster." Jude complimented. "With that skill, you're already good for your first mission!" Handler gave her a thumbs up. "So does that mean we're going out?" Eleanor asked excitedly. Joseph laughed, "Woah there, I think you should rest up first before we start an expedition."

"Yeah, we wouldn't want you to wear yourself out before the expedition ends." Handler encouraged Joseph's suggestion. Eleanor shrugged, "Alright, I'll do that." She walked out of the training area. "W-Wait up, meowster!" Jude ran after her. "So, are you heading out to hunt that Diablos yet?" Handler put her hand on Joseph's shoulder. Joseph shrugged, "I don't know, I am tired from training Eleanor so I'm staying in Astera." Joseph went back to his room. "Xavier and I are still going." Jay blurted out. "Are you sure? It's dangerous to go out alone." Handler questioned. Jay nodded, "Yup, maybe we'll be safer if Serra comes with us." Jay looked at Serra and waited for her answer.

"Yeah, I'm sure that my meowster won't mind." Serra smiled. Jay smiled back, "Sweet, let's go then!" Jay walked out with the group. They traveled down to the Wildspire Waste in search of Diablos. "I'll stay here, good luck with your expedition!" Handler waved goodbye. Jay nodded, "Thanks, Handler!" They searched all across the Waste. Strangely, Diablos was no where to be found. "Seriously, did we come all the way here for nothing?" Jay complained. "You shouldn't compawlain, Jay." Serra told him. Jay smiled, "You sound just like my brother." "Let's keep looking." Xavier walked off. Jay and Serra followed close behind him, looking for Diablos tracks on the way.

"Hey, Jay!" Someone shouted for Jay. He and the palicos turned to see Eleanor and her palico. She quickly ran over to them wave her hands in the air. "E-Eleanor?!" Jay was shocked to see Eleanor. Eleanor smiled, "I left Astera and came here when someone gave me directions." "B-But Eleanor, you're supposed to s-stay in Astera!" Jay didn't want Eleanor to go with him because he was afraid she would get hurt. Eleanor laughed, "I'm not very good at listening." "My meowster won't be pawleased..." Serra sighed. "If we tell him." Xavier added. Serra tilted her head in confusion. Xavier repeated himself, "You're meowster will be upset if we tell him."

"Are you saying we should keep this a secret from my meowster?" Serra frowned. Xavier nodded and looked at Jay. "B-But we can't t-take her!" Jay protested. "I doubt we're gonna find a Diablos. So why not help her train?" Xavier suggested. "I... I don't want her to get hurt..." Jay surprised Eleanor a little. "Woah, d-do you really care about m-my meowster that m-much?" Jude stuttered. "Huh, w-well of course I do! She's my apprentice after all."  Jay averted his eyes away from Jude, making him tilt his head.

Eleanor giggled, "C'mon Jay, I'm a tough cookie. Monsters don't scare me." "I know but..." Jay sighed in defeat. If it would make Eleanor happy, he would do it. "Fine, let's go." Jay had Eleanor and Jude follow him. "Yes!" Eleanor was pumped up. They walked for a while, eventually encountering a Barroth. "There meowster, a Barroth!" Xavier pointed.

Eleanor drew her Kadachi Strikebow, "I got this." Eleanor aimed at the Barroth's head. Jay couldn't help but smile at her confidence. Eleanor let go and the arrow hit the Barroth directly in the eye. It roared in pain and hit its head against the ground. "Haha, stupid monster." Eleanor rushed over to the Barroth. Jay ran after here, "Hold on, Eleanor!" "Meowster, w-wait for us!" Jude yelled. The three palicos ran after the hunters.
