Jay dashed into the Ancient Forest, tears falling down his cheeks. He accidentally ran into a tree and landed on the ground. "Ouch!" He yelled out as he got up. Luckily he didn't attract any monsters. He rubbed his head, wondering how he didn't knock himself out. He decided it was best not to run anymore and continue to walk into the forest. For some reason when Jay walked by a Jagras pack, they didn't attack him. They just watched him pass by. One of them even tilited its head in concern.

Jay sighed as he pushed through some bushes and vines. When he finally got out of the mess of plants, he saw someone wearing a strange armor set. "Jay?" The voice sounded familiar. "What are you doing out here?" It was Hunter. Jay didn't response nor look at Hunter. Hunter walked up to him, "Hey, what's wrong?" Jay stepped back a couple times, "It's... It's nothing. Why do you even care anyway?" "I care because I care about everyone." Hunter simply said. Jay was silent for a bit. He sat down and cupped his face in his hands, "I hate Joseph... I really hate him..." "Why would you hate him? He's your brother." Asked Hunter.

"All he ever does is yell at me, push me around, and make my life miserable! I'm so sick of it!!!" Jay raised his voice. Hunter crouched down and put his hand on Jay's shoulder, "Hey, you may be sick of them now and probably for a while. However, in the end, you're going to be thankful that they were there." Jay aggressively shoved Hunter's hand off his shoulder. "Why should I be thankful for getting luctured about EVERYTHING?! Or thankful for being the WORST hunter someone has ever talked to?!" Jay shouted. Hunter became quiet.

Jay's voice soften, "Well, he's not wrong... I can't even bring myself to fight a Bazelguese..." Just even mentioning the Bazelgeuse made Jay tear up a little. Hunter spoke again, "It's ok to be scared of one monster. I've been afraid of Barioth all my life after it attacked my childhood home." "I was attacked by an Anjanath when I was younger..." Jay told Hunter. Hunter shrugged, "Looks like we both had a nasty run with monsters during our childhood." It fell silent again. Jay wondered about how everyone was reacting to him running from Astera, except his brother. He missed Eleanor, Handler, and everyone else too but his brother. The only he thought about that involved Joseph was how he almost could have killed him with his weapon.

"Hello?" An unknown voice could be heard. Hunter instantly turned, knowing who's voice it was. "Athena!!!" Hunter got up and ran over to a orangish-red haired girl. Athena was shocked to see Hunter. Hunter gave a huge hug to Athena, she hugged back. Athena looked over and saw Jay, "Who's that?" "Aye, it's Hunter!" "Hunter!!!" Two other people called out Hunter's name. Jay watched as a hunter with purple eyes and a hunter with a strange armor walked over to Hunter. Hunter turned to Jay and signaled him to come over. Jay hesitantly walked over to the group.

"Everyone, this is Jay." Hunter introduced. Jay just waved, not even bothering to smile. Hunter told Jay everyone's name, "This is Lag, Iris and Athena." Apparently the purple colored eyed hunter was Iris, so that would me the other hunter was Lag. Lag seemed to notice something was wrong with Jay, "Oi, what's wrong?" Iris glared at Lag, "Stop reading people, Lag! You're probably making him uncomfortable." Jay cringed slightly. He was in no condition to have a whole bunch of new names shoved in his head. Jay gasped when he heard a familiar voice. "JAY, WHERE ARE YOU?" It was Joseph. Jay dashed away from the group deeper into the Ancient Forest.

His heart pounded as he ran through leaves and dodge overhead branches. Every time he felt himself slow down he pushed himself to go faster. Jay tripped on a tree root and hit the ground pretty hard. "OW!!! Ouch..." He struggled to get up. When he tried to step on his left leg, a sharp pain ran through his ankle. "Agh! Ow, I must have sprained my ankle..." Jay grabbed onto a branch and pulled himself up. He couldn't really move in this state. He knew that if he were to get attacked, he'd probably die. Jay didn't care though, he just wanted to get away from everyone. Suddenly he heard grimalkynes. He used the sides of rocks and trees to get closer to the grimalkynes. Jay was expecting Bugtrappers but it was the Plunderers.
