Hunter From Another World

   "Ok, Serra, my meowster, and I were searching for a Diablos to hunt. Then suddenly Eleanor appears, and she told that she wanted to train." Xavier explained. "And you let her?" Handler frowned. Serra nodded, "Yeah, but then we were attacked by a Bazelgeuse. Luckily, someone came along to lend us a helping paw." "Was it someone we know?" Handler asked. Jay shrugged, "We don't know, they were wearing Azure Rathalos armor."

   Eleanor sat up, "Umm Jay, why were you so terrified of that Bazelgeuse anyway?" Jay was looked away from her, not willing to talk. Handler frowned, "Jay told me this one time, so I'll tell you." Eleanor listened carefully, so did Jude. "When Jay was little, he was attacked by an Anjanath. His mother tried to defend him but a Bazelgeuse came through and killed her, along with the Anjanath." Handler sighed. Eleanor was shocked, "How awful!" Handler nodded, "Yeah I know, Jay was afraid of that exact Bazelgeuse ever since. Only that specific one though, the one with the scar on its back. That's the one that killed Jay's mother."

   "My meowster got his Beserker Sword from her. Jay was upset whenever my meowster used it. He eventually forgot about it though." Serra spoke. Eleanor got teary-eyed when she heard the story. She looked over at Jay and noticed he was silently weeping. Xavier walked over, "Meowster?" "I'm... I'm fine..." Jay got up and went inside the tent. "Jay, what about them?" Eleanor asked. Jay ignored her and lied down.

   "Handler, you'll help right?" Eleanor grabbed Handler's arm. "But you're still hurt, we can't go out when you all are tired." Handler declined. "Hmm? Oh, m-meowster look!" Jude pointed. Eleanor and Handler looked to see Azure Rathalos armored hunter limping towards the camp. "Oh my gosh, Handler they're ok." Eleanor sighed in relief. Handler wandered over to the hunter and helped them back to camp. "Hey are you alright?" Handler was concerned. She helped the Azure Rathalos armored hunter sit down. "Yeah, I'm fine." He responded. Serra brought over a mega potion for the hunter, "Here, this'll help you heal." "Thank you." He gulped down the mega potion. It was a bit quiet apart from the crackles from the fire burning.

   Eleanor sat down again and looked at the strange hunter. "So, why did you decide to save us?" She asked. He shrugged, "You guys were in trouble." "That's a reasonable answer." Xavier smiled. "Well anyways, thank you." Eleanor thanked the hunter. He nodded, "I could tell you're rank was low based off your armor. Also, your friend was frozen in fear so I just couldn't leave you two." Handler smiled, "That was really kind of you." "Maybe we should get some rest. We can return to Astera tomorrow." Xavier yawned. Jude purred, "I a-agree."

   "You're right, make sure you get some rest alright? You probably need it." Eleanor told the Rathalos armored hunter. He answered, "Ok I'll try." Serra and Xavier went inside the tent to sleep with Jay. Meanwhile Handler slept outside with Eleanor, Jude, and the strange hunter. "Meowster, are you asleep yet?" Xavier whispered. Jay didn't respond. Serra walked over to check if he was asleep, which he was. "He's sleeping, Xavier." Serra meowed. Xavier sat down and yawned again. Serra lied down next to him. "Poor meowster, I wish that meownster will just go away." Xavier sighed. Serra purred back, "I know, but sometimes we can't control what happens." "This is my fault..." Xavier whimpered. Serra hissed quietly, "It's not, we were just unlucky."

   The palicos were silent for a while. Serra spoke suddenly, "The world is filled with purroblems and we can't do anything about them." This made Xavier angry. "But why, my meowster shouldn't have to suffer all the time." He hissed. Serra shushed him, "No one should. We just have to endure it." It was silent again. Xavier looked over at Serra, "Should we request help to take that Bazelgeuse down?" Xavier sighed when he realized Serra was sleeping. He meowed to himself, "We have to do something for our meowsters..." Xavier slowly but surely fell asleep.

   Morning came by fast, many monsters awakening from their slumber. Surprisingly, Jay was first to wake up, or so he thought. He stepped outside the tent, noticing the Azure Rathalos armored hunter outside. "Oh, hey it's you. You're ok!" Jay was glad to see the hunter. "Yeah I'm fine, why do you ask?" He questioned. Jay shrugged, "Well, I mean you did save me so why wouldn't I be worried about you?" "Don't worry, I can take a beating from a man or a monster." The strange hunter reassured. Jay smiled, "You must be really tough. Hey, what's your name anyway?" "Hunter, you?" Hunter stuck out his hand. Jay accepted the handshake, "My name's Jay. Nice to meet you!"

   "Nice to meet you too. Who was that other hunter with you?" Hunter asked. "Oh, that was Eleanor. Her palico's name is Jude. She wasn't supposed to be out in the Wildspire though..." Jay sighed. Hunter noticed the name of the Waste and spoke, "That's what this desert is called? Wildspire..." "Hmm? Are you from Astera? I don't think I've seen you around before..." Jay asked. Hunter shook his head, "No, I'm not from around here... Wait, I need to get back with Athena and my squad!!!" He got up with worry in his eyes.

   "Who's that, and a squad?" Jay questioned. "Athena is a friend of mine and I need to get back to my squad! We were attacked and I doubt it was the last!" Hunter explained. Jay tilted his head, "Umm, where exactly are you from?" "I'm from a village called the Ever Forest." Hunter answered. Jay frowned, "Well, there's the Ancient Forest but I doubt the Ever Forest exists in the New World..." Hunter eyes widened, "The New World, what do you mean?!" Jay became concerned and confused. "What, you don't know about the New World?" "No, I'm not a member of the Commission. I heard some stories about your group but I never thought they were true." Hunter responded.

   "Do you remember how you got here?" Jay questioned. Hunter nodded before speaking, "I remember trying to get my gear when a golden rimmed hole appeared and I fell into it. Is that normal here?" Hunter asked. Jay shook his head, "No. No it's not normal at all..." "So did I teleport here or go into your dimension or something?" Hunter asked again. Jay thought for a second. "It's possible you were thrown into the New World from another dimension... I'll have to ask the scholars in Astera to see if they know anything." "I want to think that I teleported not to far from home and my friends..." Hunter whispered something else but Jay didn't quite catch it.

   "Morning!" Xavier purred as he exited the tent. Jay looked over, "Oh hey Xavier. This is my palico, his nane is Xavier. Xavier, this is Hunter." Jay introduced his palico. "Nice to meet you!" Xavier meowed to Hunter. He replied, "Hello, Xavier." It was quiet for a while until Jay spoke, "Hey Hunter, do you want you head back to Astera with us? We might be able to find you a way back home." "Yes." Hunter said simply. Jay nodded, "Alright, I'll get everyone up and we'll head down."
