"Aki why are you soaking wet?" the class queen, the cliche snotty brat and Aki's college friend, asked with a little flirt in her voice.

"Heyyy Aki how it going!" walking in the classroom was Leo, Aki's best friend sense he moved to America when he was nine years old. Leo playfully hit Aki's arm when he walked up to him, he stood in the way of the class queen. "Yo bro, why are you wet?" he asked looking disgusted at his now wet hand.

"I lost my umbrella."

"You? Forgetting your umbrella? Are you the same Aki I know?" He said with genuine concern in his voice.

"I didn't forget my umbrella... I lost it on the way to school."

"You lost... your umbrella... while it was raining and it was in your hand... on the way to school?"

"Something like that."

Leo gave a look of disbelief and doubt before giving his attention to the class queen, which had been poking at him ever sense he got there.

"Ah didn't see you there bitc- I mean Serena. Are you here to bug Aki again?"

"Were you going to call me a bitch?!" She yelled in complete anger, once she saw Aki looking at her with concern she settled down, "I'm not bugging Aki... it's normal for his girlfriend to talk to her boyfriend right!?"

"Girlfriend!" Leo said surprised, "Aki! I didn't know you would stoop this low..."

"This low!! You wish I could be your girlfriend," she said sticking her tongue out at Leo."

They continued to childishly fight, while Aki unbothered said while taking out his school books, "she's not my girlfriend Leo, Serena I suggest you stop telling lies like that."

Serena went quiet and then laughed awkwardly, "yeah! It was all a joke Leo. Geez you're so easy to tease..." her playful voice sounded a little forced, like she was disappointed admitting it.

Leo stopped fighting with Serena and brought up the first topic once more, "so are you just going to go through the day soaking wet?"

"Well I didn't bring a change of clothes... I'm just going to have to bare with it."

"No Aki! You can get sick that way. Also it's probably really uncomfortable right?" Serena said.

"Seriously how did you manage to lose your umbrella? It wasn't very windy today..."

"I.... gave it away."

"You gave it away?"

"Yeah there was a person sitting in the rain who looked sad so I.... gave them my umbrella."

"Ahhh so that's how it is... you know Aki sometimes you are to nice for your own good."

"Yeah Aki! Giving a umbrella to a random person in the city! You know how dangerous that can be?!"

"Dangerous? It's true you shouldn't associate yourself with a stranger in the city Aki... this isn't like back in the countryside where everyone knows everyone."

"I know, I know. She just looked so down... she needed it more than me."

"She?!" Serena exclaimed, in a more surprised tone than she had intended.

"Ohhh Aki! It was a girl~ man you flirt."

"Wait it's not like that!" Aki stated flustered.

"So was she our age? Was she hot? Did you at least get her number??" Leo bombarded with questions.

"Uh she looked our age... she was relatively pretty."

"Man~ my dude picking up girls every where he goes!"

"I'm telling you it wasn't like that! I doubt I will even see her again," Aki went silent for awhile until continuing again, "I just thought she needed a little warmth on this gloomy day."

It was silent as they both were trying to process his words. In no time Leo started laughing, "man I didn't know you were such a romantic."

Aki got flustered again and tried to disagree with any statement Leo said. Serena, however, was unusually quiet.

Leo's phone vibrated in his pocket. He stopped giving Aki a noogie to check his phone.

"Ah damn. My lecture is starting, Liz is calling me over."

"Why can't you just skip?" Serena asked.

"It's Mr. Craws class... so you know exactly what would happen if I skip that."

"Ew Mr. Craw creeps me out. You know there's a rumor he dated a girl who was in high school."

"Doesn't he have a wife?"

"Who would marry that creep."

"Well whatever imma head out," Leo got his bag and started walking out waving in goodbye, "let's get lunch at the usual place at 12, k?"

"Alright cya Leo," Aki waved back.

"Ugh he's finally gone," Serena said with her snotty voice.

The two talked in the silence of the classroom, still 30 minutes until the lecture began. They all usually met up early at school because they usually didn't have the free time to meet after school.

Leo got in this school with a athletic scholarship so he has to participate in tack and field events, which takes up almost all his free time. Serena is studying to be a lawyer like Aki, putting them in the same classes, however for Aki he's transferring out-of-country to get his PHD (in discretion of his mother) so the three don't have much time left together.
