The Wendigo

No One's POV

It has been a few minutes since Mike left and everyone has been a bit on edge as Emily gave Ashley the stick eye every now and then, while Chris kept blaming himself for the stranger's death. Ashley was going through the book (Y/N) went through before to prove that Emily was safe. Sam sat on the counter while (Y/N) slowly paced back and fourth just to pass the time. Ashley flipped a few more pages to discover and tell everybody that since the wendigo are mutated from humans, so that means that they can perfectly mimic their prey. This interested Sam for her to walk over to Ashley and start reading the pages with her. Sam then saw something that made her start worrying, "Shit. We've got to get Mike now." She quickly walked towards the tunnel entrance without telling anybody why. Ashley followed her, with Emily behind her, (Y/N) following suit, and Chris pulling from the rear as he limped from the injury on his leg.

A few minutes passed for the small group to be deep in the tunnels as they used flashlights to see where they were going in the surrounded darkness that they were in. Chris soon leaned on the right side of the wall as his leg caused him pain with every step, "You guys go on without me. I'll catch up in a bit." Ashley though reassured him, "No Chris. We are not leaving you. We're sticking together." With this Chris mustered up his strength to endure the pain and continue forward. Later on they reached a metal door for (Y/N) to try and open it, just for it to not as he couldn't open it, "Shit. Mike must have locked it behind him." Sam looked around, "There must be another way in."

It didn't take long for Ashley to squat down in front of a sewer cover, "Hey, what about this?" Sam squat down to, "Yeah, this could work." They found a crowbar which helped them to pry it up and move it out of the way. Everyone looked down for Sam to nod her head a little, "So, who's going first?" Ashley looked up at her, "Ha!" (Y/N) went down first as he used the ladder, "This isn't so bad. I thought there would be mold, but it's fine." Sam followed afterwards as (Y/N) was still going down, "You like the view?" "It's not so bad." Emily went next, "Come on guys." Chris went next for Ashley to come last, and when she went through she closed the sewer cover to keep anything from following them. This made her fall behind a little though, so she walked forward to catch up.

(Y/N) walked ahead with Sam as the dirty water splashed with each step. As he walked he spotted to a totem that he picked up [Guidance: A wendigo was heading towards Sam as everyone left was in the cabin. (Y/N) whistled to catch the wendigo's attention making it jump towards him.] He set it down to continue walking with Sam until they reached an open area, to be stopped by a high wall. (Y/N) looked around, "Where is Ashley?" The other three looked around for Chris to look a bit worried, "Wasn't she right behind us?" Emily shook it off, "She's probably just being slow." As soon as she said that Ashley came through, "Hey guys." Sam lightly hit (Y/N)'s arm, "Come on. We can climb this." The two started to climb for Emily to become worried, "Wait a minute, we can't climb like that." Sam looked down at her, "Just go back to the lodge." "But, shouldn't we stick together?" The two continued climbing for Emily to stomp on the ground, "Sam!" Sam looked down at her, "Sorry. But we have to get to Mike, with or without you!" "Just make it back ok!"

The two started climbing for the other three to walk back down the tunnels. Sam made it up first to turn around and give (Y/N) a hand. (Y/N) took it for Sam to pull him up, "Shouldn't this be the other way around?" "Nah, I like this way better." This made Sam smile a little, "Come on. We can drop down from here." She then pointed to the only place that led somewhere which went down into a mine shaft. (Y/N) dropped down to look up at the hole, "You comin' Sam?!" "Yeah! I just saw something interesting!" Sam walked the corner of the ledge to pick up a totem. She put it down after seeing it to jump down with (Y/N). The two continued forward to reach a fence door that was east to open. When they opened it though an orange spirit with the face of a wendigo come through and disappear behind them. The two took a breathe after getting the air scared out of them.

(Y/N) looked at Sam, "What the hell was that?!" "I have no idea." She walked though the door, "Come on. Let's keep moving." (Y/N) followed suit to come into a tunnel that kept going to the left as the right was a door. Mike then busted through the door with a shotgun and a lamp as he fell on the ground. A burnt wendigo on fire came through to lunge at Mike, but (Y/N) was quick enough to grab his hand and pull him out of the way. The wendigo hit the ground, and as it recollected itself Sam grabbed a pipe to hit the wendigo in the head. This made it's neck come off a little for it to go to the ground. It lunged at Sam, but (Y/N) did the only thing he could do with how little and supplies he had, he punched the thing in the face. With it's the damage to it's neck it came off decapitating it. It's body fell, for it's spirit to come out. With everything silent Sam looked at (Y/N), "Are you alright?" (Y/N) shook his hand as he bounced a little, "Shit that thing was hot!" Mike stood up to close the door and lock it, "We don't want anymore coming through. Sam examined (Y/N)'s fingers and knuckles, "Oh, yeah your skin is burned. It'll take a few days to heal." (Y/N) winced a little, "It's skull was not soft." Sam kissed his cheek, "You killed it at least. Good job." "Thanks." Mike walked ahead of them a little, "Come on. We have to go get Josh." The other two nodded as they continued.
