The Safe Room

No One's POV

Mike was getting ready to go back to the sanitorium to find out about the wendigo and how to beat them. Mike pulled out a map of the entire mountain, that he found at the sanitorium. Sam and Emily started to look at. Emily pointed at one of the lines, "That's weird. There's a tunnel that leads from the lodge to the sanitorium." (Y/N) looked at Mike as they both let out a sigh of despair, "I wish we knew that before." Emily continued, "I saw this. When I was down in there. That's where it lives."  Before he could get ready Ashley started freaking out about the wound on Emily's shoulder, that she had kept quiet about. 

Ahley started to say, "Oh my gosh." over and over again which started to freak out Mike as Emily attempted to defend herself, "It's nothing. I just- it bit me and-" Ashley stopped saying the same three words, "It bit you! What bit you?!" "The ah, the wendigo." With this Mike became scared of what might happen, "The what?" "It's nothing really. It's no big deal." Sam was the only one being reasonable right now, "Are you ok?" "Yeah it doesn't even hurt anymore. It's not that bad." Mike started to see Emily as a potential threat, "Em, if that thing bit you." "I know what ypur thinking and I'm fine." "Are you?" "Yes!" Sam kept calm, "Emily at least let us check it out." "Yes do that!"

Mike stayed alert, "Emily if that thing bit you, then you could turn into one of them. Sam looked at Mike when he was crazy, "That's ridiculous." Ashley was still panicking as all reason went out the window for her, "He said it was from EATING each other- remember, he said that!" "Is that how it works?" "Yes! It happens if he bit you! She's gonna turn into one and then turn on us! Oh my god Oh My God!" With this Mike told Emily to leave as this was the safe room and it wasn't safe if she was in here.  Emily refused to go out as there was a wendigo outside ready to tear her to shreds. Mike then grabbed the revolver to aim it at Emily making everyone take a step back in shock as Emily backed up on the desk, "Your going to shoot me? Mike, me?" "This is the safe room Em! It's not safe as long as your in here! Not for us!" "Please don't do this." "I'm really sorry."

(Y/N) then quickly hit a table as he read some pages in a book, "Wait a minute!" Mike looked at him for (Y/N) to grab the book and walk to Mike, "She isn't gonna turn." Ashley shook her head, "No the man said-" "Shut it Ashley!" Ashley was taken back by this as (Y/N) has never yelled like that at her. He then walked up to Mike as he showed him the pages that he read, "The man said that the people had to resort to cannibalism, remember?" Mike kept aim at Emily as he traced the words on the pages with his finger to read that a bite won't make a person turn, unless if they ever eat human flesh. Mike took a sigh of relief as he brought his gun down as he walked in a small circle with his hands behind his head, "Oh thank god." (Y/N) looked at Emily, "You'll be fine. Just don't eat any of us." He said in a joking matter to get nothin but silence as Sam slowly shook her head, "Not the right time sweetie." "Yup."

As everyone calm down Mike started to head to the tunnel to the sanitorium for (Y/N) to follow him. Mike stopped him though, "No you stay here." "What why. It's dangerous for you to go alone." "Look, Ashley is on edge where anything can tick her off, Chris is broken after seeing that guy die, and Emily is most likely pissed to hell and back for what happened. Sam is calm, but she is authoritative and can tell people what to do. But they will start to not like, which is where you come in. Right now they need someone that can be their friend and ease the tension." "I see what your getting at." "Look I'll be fine." "Yeah, just be safe." Mike and (Y/N) clasped their hands together as they bumped their elbows together, "You too." 

Mike left into the tunnel as he walked back into the safe room to see Chris looking at the ground, Emily still sitting on the table, Ashley sitting in a chair, and Sam standing near him as she looked at everyone else. (Y/N) walked up to Chris, "Hey man you alright?" Chris lightly nodded, "Yeah I'm fine." "Do you wanna talk about it?" Chris was silent for a while, "I was right there. I could of been the one that got his throat slit." "Well you didn't, so make it worth it by getting out of this alive." Chris nodded a little as his mood was brightened a little, "Yeah, yeah. I'll do that." (Y/N) then walked to Ashley, "Hey Ashley, how ya doin'?" Ashley didn't say anything to him as she avoided eye contact. (Y/N) rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm sorry for yelling at you. You were just making things worse by freaking out." Ashley didn't say anything for a few seconds, "I know. I'm just scared. Are we gonna die here?" "No. We'll make it out of this." Ashley looked at him with a weak smile as he did the same until she looked at the book that (Y/N) set down on the table in front of her. (Y/N) then went to Emily, "So how ya feeling?" "As if though everyone wants to kill me." "Everyone's just on edge and is terrified." "How do you think I feel?" "Yeah fair point. Well just be happy that you made it this far with being in the tunnels and everything." Emily looked up at (Y/N), "Guess that is something to be happy about. Still being alive even with everything out to get me. And uh, thanks for saving me back there." "It's no problem." 

With all of this done he walked next to Sam who smiled at him, "Look whose keeping everyone's spirits up." "Well someone has to." Sam then looked a bit worried as she grabbed (Y/N)'s hand, "We'll get through this." (Y/N) then hugged her, "Yeah." Sam hugged back tightly as if though it was the last time that she was gonna hug him.
