Logan's (pov)Deceit and I glanced at one another, a silent conversation happening between us, before he bolted to the door. I tried to get up and follow him, only for the handcuffs to pull me back down. Damnit. He tried pulling on the door, though I knew it wouldn't budge.
"Guys! Is that you?!"
"Deceit?!"
"Yea its me! Virgil?"
"Yep! Got pops with me!"
Patton?
"Can you open the door?! A password or something?"
"Obviously not! Can't you force it open?"
"I have wings, not a sledge hammer!"
I chuckled at their bickering. "Oh as if you can do anything!" Deceit snapped at me. I smirked "Your experiments complete, yes? Try spitting on the lock." He looked at me completely dumbfounded. "Spit?" I nodded. "Spit."
"The hells going on in there?!"
"Language!"
I rolled my eyes at the other twos remarks. Deceit looked to me and then the handle, leaning down he spat on the lock, eyes widening as it melted through. "Venom. Modified venom at that. Do you like it? After all it was my pitch in office." He sent me a glare. "Really?" I shrugged. "Blame the teenager who wanted to be friends with superheroes." That managed to get a smile out of him as he tried the handle once more. It slid smoothly, opening easily. Worked better than I thought.
"Deceit!" Patton threw himself onto the newly scaled man. "I'm so glad you're ok. I'm so glad you're both..." he trailed off as his eyes landed on me, still able to figure out it's me despite his lack of glasses. "You got stuck with this psychopath huh?" Virgil scoffed. "High functioning sociopath." I corrected, a smirk on my face. He hissed at me as Deceit and Patton looked between us.
"Whatever I am, I must applaud you for getting this far especially with all the cameras watching."
"I have feathers dumbass. All I need is a good shot and it's down.
"Oh so you're not a complete idiot."
"Boys please." Patton interrupted us. I leant back against the wall. "You have before midnight to get out of here. Good luck." I said honestly. Virgil nodded firmly about to walk off with Patton, only for Deceit to stop him, holding out his arm. He mumbled something I couldn't quite hear, though it caused Patton to glance at me. They continued to converse and Virgil continued to look disgusted. That was until they turned to me.
"Logan?" I hummed as a reply. "If and just if! We decided to take you with us. Could we trust you to take us to the exit?" Patton asked cautiously. I adjusted my glasses as I formulated a reply. Honestly? I don't care. My life work has been destroyed simply because my experiment went haywire." Virgil raised a brow. "So is that a yes?" I pulled on the handcuffed and eyed Deceit. "Depends." He smiled and walked over, melting the chain. "Yes." I stood rubbing my wrist, finally detaching from the bed.
"Let's do this."
