Patton's (pov)

The four of us tried our best to find some kind of exit. Some kind clue. Logan ended up leading knowing the best way around this white hell.

The clock was ticking above us as it got far to close to midnight. Our final experiment as it were. What it is we have no clue. Not even Logan seems to fully understand. "Wait!" Virgil stopped us, dead in our tracks, pushing us all against a wall with his large wings. "Honestly we have no tim~" "Shh!" Virgil quickly shushed Logan as we finally heard it. "Footsteps." I mumbled cautiously. We all stood frozen. Well all but Logan. "What are you doing?" Deceit hissed out. Logan raises his arm before daring to look around the corner. "No ones here." He whispered. Yet, we clearly heard footsteps. "Then what on earth-

"Remus!"

"Shit!"

Oh... The two fell from above. Coming from a kind of air vent, crash landing onto tentacles? "Oh hello?" Roman tried to speak up as if he hadn't just fallen from the sky. Logan sighed walking back over. "So it wasn't anything important, good." "Hey!" Remus yelled in defence, though we all shushed him. "What on earth were you two idiots doing?" Virgil piped up. The two shrugged, standing up and dusting off. "Looking for an exit?" Roman replied. "In the vent?" Deceit asked sarcastically. "Uh yes?" The two told in unison. I giggled at that, getting an odd look from Logan as I did. "Right then we have everyone. Let's get the hell out of here." Virgil declared, once again edging along the corner and destroying a camera with his wings. "Le' go."

We continued on our way, banter being exchanged to try and lighten the mood no matter how grim things felt. "We're off to see the wizard." I hushed, singing under my breathe, hooking arms with Virgil and Roman. "The wonderful wizard of oz." Roman smirked linking arms with Remus. "There ever a wizard who wished he was because, because, because~" He sang. Remus finally joining arms with De and Logan. "Because of the wonderful things he does!" I cheered. Giggles burst among us, Virgil and Logan both equally trying as hard to stifle their laughter. "Thanks Padre." Roman spoke up. I smiled, nodding.

"Of cours-

"We got them!"

Sugar...

"Run!"

We all split up in different directions, the cousins dodging right, the brains going dead ahead as I followed Virgiey left. "Keep runni-oomph!" I got cut off by a hand covering my mouth. I lashed out through muffled screams, kicking my legs desperately as I was hoisted off the ground. "Dad!" I opened my eyes, not aware I had closed them as I bit a white glove, breaking free for a split second. "Run! Please!" I cried. But Virgil stopped dead in his tracks, obviously conflicted. "But I-

"Participants it is eleven 'o' clock. Repeat eleven 'o' clock. Final experimentation at twelve 'o' clock. Repeat twelve 'o' clock."

I practically screamed at Virgil to run, begging him to save his own life. But he couldn't. I knew he couldn't. Because I know Virgil. He charged dead ahead knocking out my captures. I slumped into his grip as we both began running once again. "We're gonna be ok. We're gonna be ok." He repeated. I smiled. My son. How radiant.

My appreciation was cut short however, as the maze of halls finally met at a point. A single point. The exit. Virgil laughed beside me, the two of us finally slowing down. Until, "Guys!" We both turned, an in tune moment of satisfaction as the others steadily approached. Remus with his tentacles out, Deceit with scales now around most of his face. And of course Roman was there with his dashing smile. But most shocking of all? Logan there. With too, a dashing smile. Eyes gleaming and hair a mess, collar asymmetrical and tie fused. Human. I opened up my arms as all my kiddos dived in, finally-we're out of here.

At last we separated, pure joy in our hearts. As we all watched Logan step up and make his way over to the eye scanner. He slipped his glasses down the edge of his nose, just as we heard,

"Experimentation will be moved to eleven thirty. Repeat experimentation will be moved to eleven thirty due to trouble with subjects."

No...

"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that may occur from this sudden change...Dr. Sanders."

The eye scanner was overrun as the numbers 07734 appeared instead. Heavy marching came from behind us as we all looked to Logan in desperation. "Shit!" He cursed. The six of us didn't know what to do as sirens began to swirl in our heads no doubt triggering Virgil's anxiety. "Oh for goodness sake!" Roman finally stepped forward electrocuting the controls finally, finally! Letting the doors fly open. We all rushed out into the dawn of a new day, ready to make our case to the world! To be free. All except,

"Logan?"
